Getting in another operatunity to use the unobtainium 2011 R41 head on loan from @Primotenore here.

Today.........I had a delightful shave, of which I don’t think I’ve had better in the DE category.

I used a GSB because it is my shavette fave. And I used the short skinny Merkur 30c handle........uh, because it was there. Wow, it was the perfect combo for me. GSB’s cut very well and the smoothness on edge is superior. I wasn’t at all sure I’d like this skinny little handle, but it turned out to be the perfect fit for a sensitive control on angle and pressure. If the Muhle head were mine, this would be the setup I’d use.

Following the Keith and Primo guide calling for a WTG pass on closing, I just reversed my sequence. I’ve never done an ATG pass out of the gate till today........hmmmm, painless it was! I still had to make my final 1/2 pass ATG to get what I wanted. My expectations were exceeded.

These experiments are what the 30DC philosophy mean to me. A 30 day rule with this setup would teach much.

Joseph, thank you for your generosity and trust with this wonderful piece from your collection. I’d like one or two more shaves before she comes home.

It impacted today’s shave, Joe! That’s why I stuck with the AS-D2 and chose the shavette, both of which are more manageable with increased tremors. Still blood-free! The problem with my situation is that my doc told SWMBO that I’m not to do too much around the house. Replacing the AC and DC pumps and the battery backup saved us $800, but did not happily her! The dang contractor wanted $180 hr to do the work, plus I had to use his product which was identical to mine but included a ridiculous markup! I will admit that I shouldn’t handle a rented pneumatic hammer. The new pump installation will require breaking through the floating concrete slab the house sits on. I’ll admit That my son and grandson are better suited to the new job. It’s not easy getting older and being viewed as less capable. Ben will install the additional sump pumps with my grandson, Jake helping him. I’ll be there to make sure it’s done right! :)

    Good evening guys!

    Stirling Boar Brush
    Stirling Glastonbury SS and AS

    Nivea ASB not pictured
    Whiskers: 33 hrs

I decided to shave this evening so that I can get ready at a leisurely pace for the middle schoolers tomorrow. I picked the Dovo BQ because I haven't used it since 8/27/20 and others have recently used them.

Now, let me talk about the shave. Everything worked for me. Did 2 passes without touchups for a BBS- shave without blood nor irritation. Did my normal postshave routine and I am quite satisfied with the results. I am going to try using this soap 2 to 3x a week to try to put a dent into it. My goal is to knock off two more Stirling soaps this year. The other soap would be the Coconut Lime. If I can do it, then I would only have 5 left out of the original 10 Stirling soaps. I will be NB21 only soaps and that will probably continue into 2022. Have a great evening guys! 20210304_193136.jpg

Thanks Gentlemen! @Trigger also, thought I had caught yours in the Quotes option also.

Jeff, it's my understanding that the Seiko Kamisori I have is made by the same consortium, obviously a knife or cutlery division. All markings on this kami are in Japanese. That division is probably defunct now, as I'm not able to find much info. It was listed as 'NOS', but didn't give much other info as to it's history or time frame.
