Great P160 lather provided by the little Frank Shaver badger.

I completed three drama free shaves with the Nodachi this morning. If you ride the bar you are most definitely rewarded. This baby is smooth and efficient. Just a hint of alum in a few places.

Finished with a splash of Witch hazel followed by the Pinaud Clubman Aftershave Lotion stank.

Tomorrow I think I will throw the Feather back in Nodachi and see what happens.

A good shave this morning. 0:30 at the loading dock for the Jayaruh. Solid work along the cheeks and sideburns, although I noticed afterwards that I left some astroturf on the right lower sideburn area. Just before posting this, I killed off what I missed, using the Red Tip with no soap or water. Did the job, without a cut or gash.The only areas I felt needed improvement were N. Porcupine Alley(under the nose)and S.W. Cactus Nation(where the ingrown hairs are). Actually I took care of N. Porcupine-needs a second or third go-round, probably during each shave. You may be asking...Why didn't I do a second or third go round for the sideburn area. It's because I didn't notice I missed it until just doing this post. Anyway, an additional 0:10 of loading for the second pass. Equal cleanliness(that is, equal to the first pass). This shave should have been another OUTTA, but for missing the little section of sideburn I'll have to settle for Super Duper Excellent. Yeah, I had the presence of mind to knock off that area post-shave, using the Red Tip, but I should have felt the problem DURING the shave. Happy Monday!

Apologies to all the crew in advance for my lack of activity and responsiveness, but I am very much caught up in boxing up and cleaning out my father-in-law’s place here in Tennessee. We’re even slated for a balmy 62°F today. I’ll try to post my daily shaves, but otherwise won’t be able to be too active. I have grades to post by Wednesday as well for the seminar I’ve been teaching, so between the house and that I may not be very active. Hope to be back home by Friday evening. All the best to everyone!

 

No. I found out on Friday that Mondays are virtual classroom days and the classes are full strength the rest of the week. I only found out by talking with one of the tech teachers, otherwise I would not have known. They don't tell subs anything.

Menthol Monday....the Disco brush is annihilating the Simpsons shaving cream, maybe another shave left tomorrow. Super damp brush swirled in the tub, probably overloaded, but hey, it was included with a T3 brush purchase as a gift, so no regrets. Awesome bowl lather with the Super Badger knot, fun building it a little more when face swirling/painting. 2.5 usual passes, super low blade angle, awesomely smooth results this morning. PAA's Star Jelly followed by Proraso Green, very nice cooling effect with a light barbershoppy scent for a great Menthol Monday finish.

I should have added that there's still a small amt. left of the original Clubman Special Reserve-I thought I would kill it off today, then move to the newer one. However, I agree with something our dear departed friend Razorburn123 told me-aftershaves can last longer than we might think they do.

SOTD MONDAY MORNING, MARCH 8, 2021

Day two of the Tennessee Cleanout Sojourn, and I did manage to sneak out a great early morning shave. In addition to two safety razors and seven straights, I also brought along one of my best performing brushes, the MrEE knurled aluminum handled hybrid knot as well as my beloved Nancy Boy Shaving Cream and Balm. The shave came together like the Philadelphia Orchestra, with all parts flowing together harmoniously. The two types of lather one for the mug and the other the dome, set the stage for a great start to the shave.

I don't know what it is about my C-Mon Special, but it truly loves to belt out the “Buttering Toast” refrain while working! As one of the seven favorite straight razors brought on this trip, it easily held up its rep as the loudest. Three slow, luxurious passes left my mug as smooth as my great granddaughter’s butt! The SS Supply V2 easily held up its end leaving me with a porcelain smooth noggin after two bloodless ATG passes. I feel clean, refreshed and velveteen smooth.

BLADE: Schick Injector II Twin
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: MrEE Knurled Aluminum Handled Hybrid Knot #007

POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Nancy Boy Signature AS Balm.
