No apologies needed. It wasn't much of a melt and poor soap for lather. I got it from my older brother that loves menthol and he would mix it with a better soap to actually get a decent lather until it was gone. I've never used it but I hear cryogen is a pretty cold soap!

 

I'll get you a puck of it and You can try it if you want. Just a fair warning, I finished shaving with cold water and this soap, absolutely COLD I cannot feel my face and the tears kept on pouring. Maybe try hot or warm water when using it.

I would expect an intense aftershave burn with a raw neck. However, I gather you still get an uncomfortable burn under normal circumstances. I am also guessing aftershave balms aren't good because you feel greasy. Everyone is different. The EdC usually contains alcohol so I am wondering why you would be able to use it. Sorry that I am inquisitive, but it helps me with obtaining more knowledge in this hobby.

 

Besides I keep some WS-23 powder around and can freeze any soap scent I want

Congrats on being a member of the Cryogen team Myles! I don't know if you remember my problem with Cryogen and how I corrected it. You can't bloom this soap or add water to the brush to load from the puck, otherwise the soap gets liquidy and you use it up very quickly. I would suggest that you wet your face with your hands and tap the dry brush 5 to 7 times on the puck and then face lather. Do not go back for more soap because you would be defeating the purpose to keep that puck dry.
