    AoS~~dubl duck #4~~1908 Gillette/Sharp Star~~Vintage Cosmair Polo Green EdT
Began today's shave with the intention of:
    1) Not chasing the baby
    2) Being satisfied with a DFS result
Valobra's AoS Unscented is truly a fantastic product. I just scored 5 more pucks, and if anyone is interested,
the seller, "Nero" still has 20 to sell.
Binned the disappointing Personna 74 and opted for the Russian Sharp Star.
There is still quite a lot of blade feel with the Gillette.
These razors were produced when shaving was still mostly accomplished with a straight razor
and while the invention of the DE was indeed revolutionary, it would be a few years
before Gillette created a razor with "comfort" in mind.
My neck was only subjected to a WTG pass and very light and random touch-up strokes.
Even though the AoS is slick enough to get away with multiple strokes, I opted OUT of that folly.
The neck is presentable, but would miserably fail the cotton ball test.
    Everywhere else is BBS smooth.
Today's FOTD® is a very familiar bottle to all,
Ralph Lauren Polo. Now we refer to it as Polo Green, but back then, it was simply Polo.
This juice is from the early 80's and bears the Cosmair label.

    Screen Shot 2021-03-09 at 07.05.40.png
I am awaiting a small sample of the even-earlier Warner Polo.
Looking forward to making a comparison.

    Razor: G.E. Jones Shake Sharp
    Blade: Wizamets Double Stacked (5)
    Brush: Brush of Shame #1
    Soap: Pereira Shavery's Baron's Choice
    AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
    AS 2: Proraso Green Splash
Fragrance: Paco Rabanne 1 Million EDP

So I had this new soap to try. It was a gift from ExtraProtein and a favorite of his Grandfathers in another Country.(Can't tell you where so as not to blow his 007 cover and put my family in danger [IMG] ) It's made in the Country of Portugal and Googling it for info I found it's available thru WCS. It's a small low budget, thin wall plastic tub and has a nice bright and slightly floral scent to it. I'm not big on florals but this is VERY nice to me but I can't put my finger/nose on what it smells like. As far as lather it was so easy to lather and get the soap where you want it. Very cushy and slick enough to get things done. Afterwards it left my face feeling refreshed and neither dry or oily............just invigorating. Doing some research shows this to be from a company that has soap with charcoal but that is NOT present in this iteration. The Shake Sharp gave me a shave for the ages with this soap and I can't stop faceturbating and feeling my face. Thanks again Rob for a soap that while not a luxury presentation, gives the results we are all looking for and then some. I'm impressed and this stays in the den. Have a great day !

Excellent post and photo Dave. You had me researching that soap. I knew about the company and its charcoal soap but I had never heard about this offering. Very cool. Thanks for sharing.

    Fine Fresh Vetiver Aftershave

Happy Hump Day Everyone. I was inspired by @Primotenore several days back to dig out my Mike's shave soap. I really like Mike's in part because it doesn't try to keep up with the latest trends and scents. Mike's is just a straight forward shaving soap with fantastic ingredients and scents that just flat works. Put that together with a budget friendly price and you have a winner. Mike's Vetiver is for vetiver lovers. The scent is straight vetiver, not rounded out or smoothed down with other scents. If vetiver is not your thing move on to something else. The Mondial Boar was a brush purchase inspired by @Primotenore as well. This boar brush might very well be the best, most well rounded boar brush I have had the pleasure of using. Please don't tell me about this brush or that brush. I just offered my personal informed opinion from having tried most of the boar brushes available. The Mondial loaded and lathered the Mike's with ease. The rich damp earth scent filling the room while I lathered. The rest of the soaps I have used lately have been good but Mike's served as a reminder that it is something special. Three passes and touch ups ended with a drama free BBS shave. A splash of Fine Fresh Vetiver sealed the deal. I am going to work some from home this morning. I hope to have my MRI at 2pm today pending a peer to peer call between the Doctor and the Insurance. Honestly this is ridiculous. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.

Interesting read on the new soap Dave! Sounds really nice. Charcoal in shave soap…seen it mentioned a few times. Off to research.

SOTD TUESDAY MORNING, MARCH 9, 2021

Day three of the Tennessee sojourn continues with Lauren filling boxes and yours truly loading them into the SUV. It’s probably been twenty trash trips with no end in sight. At least my early morning shave was excellent! The Dubl Duck Goldedge nicely cleaned up my mug with a minor weep which disappeared after the second of my usual three passes. The SS Supply V2 never fails to please and left my dome as smooth as my mug after the usual two ATG passes! I feel clean, refreshed and velveteen smooth as I launch into another day of drudgery! The only highlight is the receipt of the second Moderna vaccination today at 12:30!

RAZOR: Dubl Duck Goldedge (Mug), SS Supply V2 (Dome)
    BLADE: Schick Injector II Twin
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: MrEE Knurled Aluminum Handled Hybrid Knot #007
    CREAM: Nancy Boy Signature
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Nancy Boy Signature AS Balm.

Thank you guys. I have my fingers crossed that things get worked out. The stress of dealing with this MRI is not helping me at all.
