Awesome shave and photo Jeff.

 

@Trigger I left the lid off the cryogen to dry over night. It is definitely less soft and goopy. But I know this might sound dumb, I feel like leaving the lid off for a prolonged time would cause the soap to lose some of it's scent and menthol strength.

 

Recycled picture from the first shave with the Tatara Nodachi. I duplicated that shave with the Nodachi today.

Last Tuesday was the first shave with the Nodachi and an inferno of alum that followed. Today's shave was much better.

The Simpson T3 is just a joy to use and produced some excellent Cella this morning.

Three glorious passes with the Nodachi left me smooth. I probably could have got by with two passes but if you got the soap why not. The alum was a just noticeable in a few spots.

A little witch hazel followed by the Cella splash and I am ready for Tuesday.

Thoughts on the Nodachi. Excellent and beautiful machine work and finish. If you ride the bar you are rewarded with an awesome shave. I seem to prefer the Astra SPs in it. The only negative thought I have about the razor is the handle which is a little long for my liking. My favorite combo is probably with the Rockwell 6S handle.

So will I add it to den? I think I would like to make it a permanent part of the den. If Clint @clint64 would like it back and see if he can tame it then I will get it on the way. If not, we will see what we can work out. Either way I appreciate the opportunity and trust to drive this fine machine.

Fantastic shave and photo Danny. I didn't know until recently that they now make a Nodachi OC base plate as well. I wonder if it bites

For a review and report of today's shave, all I have to do is go back to yesterday's report and rubber-stamp that baby onto today. Everything was the same-down to my use of the Red Tip to save it, in the same area(with no soap and water). The result-BBS all the way around. I guess one difference is that today I did get 2 Knicks that stayed on me after the Clubman Special Reserve use, and rinse with cold water. Painless, but there they were. Very Excellent.

Another nice shave with the Occam's this morning. This is a fine razor- easy to find the cutting angle, a good weight, comfortable handle. I was a little worried that the soft Zenith boar may struggle a bit to efficiently get the rubbed in Palmolive off the face, but a very nice lather was achieved in the usual amount of time and water addings.
After 3 passes and one or two extra swipes on the jawline I am completely smooth. Finished with the GLSq, which has the usual, great CL face feel along with a smarmy comment from my son about the scent. Good thing my target audience isn't 14 year olds.
