Life is pretty good in general. My family is healthy and seems to be in a good place. My team at work is back and the new project is starting soon. We seem to be in a welcome patch of fair weather. To those struggling right now, and many in our group of friends are, happy and purpose filled times will come again, and I pray they come soon! Stay strong my friends!

Up at 4 am (IKR? Ewwww) But have a long day of driving to get my stepdad to the VA for a follow up to his heart surgery last week (AV Nodal Ablation and a pacemaker) Basically in layman's terms they burn the parts of the heart that signal your heartbeat so it won't any more and then add a pacemaker to tell your heart to beat but at least it will be regulated and not race to 170 whenever it decides to. This surgery is a last resort surgery for when meds and other surgery's wouldn't work. Seems to have helped so just his follow up appointment. Hr drive to him and 3 hours to the VA and then I reverse it to get home. Not complaining as I'd do ANYTHING in my power for this man. On to the shave which is Wool Fat today with the King C. Gillette. Did we all hope Gillette would do something more like they did in years go by? YES !! Did we think they would in today's business realm do it the way we wanted? NO !!!!! And they didn't disappoint us. Is it a Gillette ? Must be as it says it on all the packaging Just a stamped out copy of others and a basic mild shaver but it gets the job done. I find the handle slippery, so I usually........................I say usually but this is probably only the second time I've used it. I used a Carbon R2 Handle so I had some grip. Easy shave for when you're half asleep. Topped with some Vetiver that I don't think will annoy someone in a vehicle with me for hours. Who knows maybe I should hit something hard like Spicebomb just to see if I can get him to ask me every few minutes, "Are we there yet?" Hope everyone has a great day and for those that are dealing with aging parents and the stresses of caring for them, Hang in there and stay strong. I know you remember how many sleepless and stressful days/nights they did the same so you could breath and enjoy life as you are now. That thought keeps us all going. I'll be thinking especially of @b1hart and @Droo78 while driving today, Have a stupendous day Everyone !

 

I am familiar with their aftershave balm. Decent product.

@Droo78 Every time I read or hear about your situation, my heart just hurts. It takes a good strong son to do what you are doing for your Mom. The example that you are setting for your kids is important. Also, you are showing your son what a real man does. Not so called role models on TV or sports. Real men are the ones that do the right things even when no one would no if they didn't. It is particularly important that your son was able to see this example before leaving for college in the fall. I will continue to keep you and your family in my prayers.

Happy Friday Everyone. I just had to use the Fat for a Fat Friday shave. By weight this puck is already over 1/3 gone. At this point, I can safely say I would buy a refill of MWF. I decided to stick with my extended mini focus on the Feather AS-D2. Three passes and touch ups caught the baby. I was not quite so aggressive buffing my lower right neck today so none of that red stuff leaked. A splash of Bay Rum aftershave and I am off to my office for the morning and a client site for the afternoon. I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday.

Fat Friday gentlemen!

Wow...what a change up from the Tatara Nodachi.

Shaving with the King C. Gillette is like.....


The Yaqi synthetic (my girly man brush) whipped up a very large amount of the Fat this morning. I apparently loaded way to much soap and I think I had enough for three shaves this morning. The Fat is just good stuff.

The King C. Gillette is a mild kitten. I think I slept through part of the shave. Three smooth passes with no hiccups.

A little witch hazel and some Clubby and this one was in the bag.
