When I saw @ischiapp Pierpaolo doing a comparison between the Simpson Trafalgar and Omega Roma I just had to give the Roma a try. I look forward to seeing how it works. In the meantime MrEE LE#004 arrived and the knot is set. Now I only have to wait for it to cure in order to give it a go.

 

Awesome...what color did you get and what knot are putting in it? I'm down for #011 but I think I'm going to have Evan leave it raw and then I'll put a polish job on it.

 

I got the blue. I put the Maggard SHD 2 band bulb knot in the handle.

Somebody at Gillette finally realized that gen Y wears beards and doesnt buy razors so they better start appealing to us older fellas who spend money on razors and not gaming software and live in our parents basements here in north America. I think they had their days with screwing us with overpriced carts and gooey gels and I wouldn't be sad to see them exit the shaving business. They are definitely not the company they once were in their heydays. It's all about squeezing your last penny and wanting more . Shareholders dont give a crap about anything than making money.

 

I'm happy to send you a raw handle. I'll be trimming and engraving #011 tomorrow. So let me know asap. It's not a big deal for me to anodize it. I've got a good system down now and the results get better with every handle. but if you want a mirror finish the only way to get that will be to polish the bare aluminum. Anodizing etches the surface slightly so no mirror finish on the anodized handles.

 

Thanks, Joseph! The Mike's Pine/Cedarwood arrived and smells exactly as I imagined. It is on tap for tomorrow morning's shave. If it performs as well as the Hungarian Lavender and Bay Rum varieties have so far for me (I am sure it will), the new scent will just be a bonus. You and Clint @clint64 initially enabled me to try Mike's Soaps. The Bay Rum was first, then I added the Lavender more recently. Now I have three scents. See what y'all started...

The day turned out to be quite hectic with three different Hospice personnel all arriving within an hour of each other. Whenever they call me to confirm that they are visiting, I tell them to just get here and if they have to wait for their coworkers to finish, that falls on them for the scheduling cluster. Encompass is the particular Hospice service that's been providing the assistance.
