    Greetings,

    A relaxing Sunday morning shave..

The Cella soap performed superbly, each time i shave with this soap it's fragrance reminds me of 'cherry Bakewell tarts'...My current tub is near complete but, all is not lost, i have another unopened tub ready to use. I have a great fondness for sweet almond /marzipan fragrance soaps.

A enjoyable 3 pass + pick ups Close comfortable Sunday morning shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with generous splash of P&G Old Spice Classic ASL.

My face is feeling silky smooth & smelling divine.;)

    Razor: Roller Guard Razor
    Blade: Wizamet (?)
    Brush: Knothead Brushworks
Soap: Stirling Blood and Steel 2019 DC30
    AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
    AS 2: Proraso Green Splash
    Fragrance: Guerlain Vetiver

The Roller Guard Company produced a baseplate that was for the Gillette Old Type and they are rare to find. I had one purchased from a member on B&B some time ago as MANY did because he found a huge stash at the time. They were new in the box and had the paperwork folded up in the tiny box.

I guess him having so many caused me to not recognize or appreciate they were as rare as they are and I foolishly sold mine for the fair price he sold them. I did remember the paperwork showing the Roller Guard Razor was available too but NEVER saw one..............until this popped up on eBay recently and I new if it went for fair money I would get it. I can't find the paperwork that came with the Baseplate alone in the green box but did find some for the Razor itself.

I believe these were from the 1920's. It looks like an Old Type. The Guard would feel VERY smooth with the spinning auger on the straight bar and could relly tame an old type Gillette which it was produced for. The Roller Guard Razor may look like an Old Type copy but to me it is MUCH milder. I'll need to compare them side by side when I get time. It seemed to have a narrow sweet spot for cutting and I was able to get a close shave although I question how long lived the closeness will be. The Blood on Steel was GREAT and again I am thankful for Charlie gifting it to me. I had another toy/tool arrive yesterday and will take for a re-acquaintance spin maybe tomorrow. These were a long time in coming to production for Stirling and they came out beautiful. I wish Rod and Mandy the best and appreciate the stress/trouble they must have endured to bring these to fruition.

Ah the joys of living in a Confucian society. In Korea Valintine's Day is different: Feb 14 the women give the men chocolate and then March 14th is White Day when men give women candy. My woman was raised in a solid Confucian manner but feels the candy in exchange for chocolate is unacceptable. So for White Day I took her shopping then for lunch and had a chocolate tort waiting for her at home.

White Day Shave: My Koraat 14 2.0 with the blood heart red scales delivered the required smoothness for a big date while the Terre d' Hermes had me smelling nice.

SOTD SUNDAY MORNING, MARCH 14, 2021

Well, my father-in-law’s house is cleaned out, and I spent part of Friday night in the Cumberland Medical Center Emergency due to an overly cautious bride who thought I was slurring my words. I kept trying to explain that I was just tired from a week of heftin’ and totin’, but she wouldn’t hear of it. The doctor diagnosed me as a tired, relatively healthy 74 year old, Then the two of us spent half an hour trying to calm my bride down and assuring her that there was no evidence of a stroke. The mug and dome shaves this morning, after a one day hiatus, were great and featured the Diamond Hayashi Nichiri Tokusen 6/8, which in combination with the SS Supply V2 put the baby to bed leaving your happy narrator clean, refreshed and velveteen smooth.

RAZOR: DH Nichiri Tokusen 6/8 (Mug), SS Supply V2 (Dome)
    BLADE: Schick Injector II Twin
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: MrEE Knurled Aluminum Handle Hybrid Knot #007
    CREAM: Nancy Boy Signature
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Nancy Boy Signature AS Balm.
