I wasn't saying anything negative , I just like automatics.. And.. in reply to what you said Well I have a few divers , a couple semi dress and a couple dress Rolex.. Plus a few Tag watches and a few Omegas and a few Breitling so... I guess I would !! My dad and I used to collect watches together as a hobby......I wear an Amazfit Bip mostly though right now..
Korea is a small country so I usually take a couple of international trips a year. Due to Covid, no trips for more than 15 months but on the bright side I saved a lot of money. Finally pulled the trigger on a day-date model, Tudor Prince Day Date. It has a retro feel given the style and size, but I think the size still works.
I think everybody does. There's been times I've considered cracking open my Invictas and removing the second hand entirely, just to fool myself into thinking it's an automatic. Stupid idea and I would just irreparably screw something up (though I can happily live without a second hand on any quartz watch).
Invicta has some nice automatics. I have one that if I find a couple more like it I'm getting one for my dad and for my sons too...
OOOH Candy !! I WANT One !!!! the watch is nice too... But seriously I am looking at getting a Hamilton Khaki King Automatic soon....
Newly arrived via my friend @wristwatchb SARB 033. I switched out the nice bracelet and put on a Strap Mill Canada tumbled leather strap. Very nice, subtle leather. The pic doesn’t do the dial and finishing justice:
I picked up a couple inexpensive silicon straps for my garmin. Figured I should brighten things up for spring.
Ha! My son watched me put the strap on this watch last night. Last year, I pulled apart a vintage Swiss Roventa winder to play around with and refurbished a Wenger Quartz I bought 30 years ago and gave both to him as he asked for them (and seems genuinely interested). Both are shown in the thread... I have had a Wittnauer Diver for 20 years that I have also promised to him the day I retire (his suggestion)... After watching me get it done, he asked me if he could have this SARB as well. My (short and sweet) response? Nope, not this one. This one I'm keeping until I'm gone.
My lips are sealed . It's hard to get one over on Jason apparently but you're probably the man to do it
I have always liked this Seiko 5, but I already have a watch. Hmm, might have to get it anyway. Quick, someone talk me out of it so I can spend my money on more urgent needs like shave gear.
Here's a neat DF tip for those who don't know it: any face watch serves as a compass if you're ever lost and have no other means of finding your way. 1) Locate the sun's position in the sky. If overcast, make your best guess. 2) Point the hour hand at a spot on the horizon in line with/directly below the sun. 3) Halfway between 12 on the dial and the hour hand/sun is South. The opposite position obviously is North. Example: as I write this at 2 pm, it's overcast but North is roughly 7:00-8:00 on my dial...close enough for getting one's bearings and it's more or less in line with my N/S road. Note that this version is oriented for use in the northern hemisphere.
