We are fine. 30 homes damaged south of Tuscaloosa in Moundville....no injuries. Some damage in a couple of counties south of us. Hopefully the worse is over.

    Brush: Frank Shaving 24mm Synthetic.
    Bowl Lather.
    Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.
Lather : Derby Lavender Shaving Cream.
    Blade: Silver Star Super Stainless.(D4)
    Razor: Parker 92r.

Cold Water Face Rinse./Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils. 3 Menthol crystals. Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./Nivea men ~ Sensitive PSB./ Herbs of Bulgaria ~ Lavender ASL.

    Greetings,

    Early morning shave,

The razor & blade duo paired together superbly, mowing through my stubble effortlessly....Out of all my TTO parker DE razors the 92r is the most aggressive...The consistent assertiveness of the Silver Star SS blade throughout the week has been superb.

The derby lavender cream which i haven't used for a while provided me a wonderful slick protective lather which made my early morning shave a pleasurable shaving experience.

Another enjoyable 3 pass + pick ups very close comfortable near BBS shave with no errors to report...A great shave to finish my shaving week....Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of Herbs of Bulgaria ~ Lavender ASL.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

    Razor: Krect Spiral Curve Slant
    Blade: Wizamet (6)
Brush: Mr EE LE Brush #006
    Soap: PAA Hotel Cecil
    AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
    AS 2: Skin Bracer
    Fragrance: Azzaro Visit

Had a few new to me things to use today. Soap sample 1 of 4 from Ken (Fluffy) and a BST buy from Don (draebeard) of a re-plated Krect Spiral Curve Slant. Also 1st use of my LE Mr EE Aluminum handle Brush. Thanks Evan @MrEE !! This thing has a nice heft I didn't expect. So the brush feels great and the new synthetic knot gave a up few fake hairs that must have been loose. It was great to use in the lathering bowl for the soap sample. Unfortunately when cleaning it I noticed the silicone was loose and so I lifted it out easily and will try again with silicone. If that doesn't work, I will set it with some epoxy. I don't usually have trouble with silicone but maybe it is the aluminum or just didn't get enough in it trying to keep it from oozing out around the hairs. No worries, easy fix to get it right.
The soap is a maker I don't buy from for a couple reasons but happy to try the CK6 formula in Hotel Cecil which is a homage to Burma Shave. Here's what the site says about the scent:

Scent Profile: Talc, Cardamom, Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Kephalis, Sandalwood, Cedar, Nutmeg, Black Pepper, Oakwood and Oakmoss.

I'll be honest that the scent was lost on me as it was too light or it's just me. I just got a light soap scent not like a bright fresh soap but just a maybe slight powder, but just a mild non descriptive scent. Again, maybe just my nose but it was nice. Not distracting other than I kept holding the brush to my nose trying to sniff what I was missing. Lathering it in the bowl it starts out a fibrous, stringy goo (I like that) and got it to a nice lather but I think I ran it past the water band and it wasn't as creamy as I know it can be. That was user error and using a bowl which I'm not used to as I face lather. Nice soap but again, not a buy for me. I do appreciate getting to try the CK6 and thank the gentlemen from Maryland ;)

Next up is the Re-Plated Krect. I had one re-plated and wasn't happy with how it effected the shave and so sold it. I was fortunate t find another in decent shape and have the shaves I missed from this cool slant sans the shiny factor. I was VERY hesitant to get this one but Don said he was able to with 2 shims get the shaves smoothed out. It did appear a tad looser than mine but will hold a blade without a shim but not enough to feel confident it won't swing open. I added a single shim and got a fairly smooth shave. Smooth most all the time but some strokes I could sense a tad of roughness. I may try a 2nd shim and experiment but I have to say I am glad I took a chance and picked it up. It will give me a shiny spare to use of a hard to come by piece of history that I LOVE the shaves from when not altered and original as my other one is. 2 shims may just get it there as well. I actually was talking to Evan about getting just my handle plated so it wasn't just brass and this option presented itself and so put the plating of the handle on the back burner for awhile.

That's it for the shave. Yesterday I spent over 3 hours putting together a huge piece of wood furniture from a box that had my back out. Today I rest and recuperate to be able to work tomorrow. I love how they have us on their payroll assembling things without pay :D Have a great day Everyone !!

    SE Shave # 179

    Rating: 4 / 5

    Razor: PAA Starling V2 (OC)
    Blade: GEM Stainless
Brush: Leo Frilot Custom NYR 26 mm Synthetic
    Lather: Loose Screw Uncomfortably Numb
Aftershave: Wholly Kaw King of Oud
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block
Thayer's Witch Hazel - Aloe Vera
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Good morning gentlemen. The 1508.5 Project marches on. The Leo Frilot NYR synthetic easily whipped up a slick lather. I did my usual three pass shave however this one was not a smooth as I would have like. I had to change out the blade after the second pass as the removal of the whiskers was some what lacking. In hindsight I should have binned it after the first pass. I guess a little stubbornness came into play as I usually get around 10 shaves with the stainless GEM blades. The binned blade was on its sixth shave. The new blade salvaged the shave. One ATG pass did the trick. Finished this shave off with the WK King of Oud. Love the Oud scent.

Last day of the practice MOLC run. Have a great day gentlemen.

We are up and moving early this morning since Swati and I are off to get our Covid vaccines today. I needed a quick and drama free shave today. This software and hardware lineup delivered just that. Three passes and touch ups just missed the baby. A splash of La Toja aftershave and Swati and I are out the door. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

Alien Shave Soap - Solar Orange
    Dscosmetics T4 Synthetic Brush
    Pinaud Clubman Aftershave Lotion

The Nodachi was calling me this morning so I decided to go the Alien route this morning. The Nodachi does look like a razor you would see in a sci-fi movie.

The Dscosmetics T4 whipped the Alien Shave shave soap into shape. Very thick and slick this morning. Down side to this soap is the small container.....too hard to load from.

Awesome three passes with the Nodachi this morning. Alum was warm in a couple of places. The Nodachi is a very efficient razor that will deliver a BBS with no problem.....it just has to be respected.

A little witch hazel and some glorious Clubby juice and this Alien shave was in the bag.

I am trying to source a Tribble knot for Evan's LE #011. I understand Tribbles make the most luxurious knots and are out of this world. :D
