Congrats on a fine shave, Paul! I plan a two-pass disposeABLE shave here in a few. I decided to plow through my remaining Dorco razors (trying to use up some odds and ends in my Den), and my recent shaves with them have been very good. The one I'm using now has six blades. Seems crazy, but it works like a charm when I pair it with my Stirling BoS soap and aftershave. Happy Monday!
Beautiful setting and shave, Doug! What? No snow in March? Nobody told me you moved to Florida! I hope all is well, my friend.
March Focus Yardley Black Label~~Simpson Milk Churn~~Gustave Lalune~~Arabian Oud Kashmir Another go with the Lalune and results were much better. It's a large razor and for me negotiating the curves is precarious. My chin is much better, as is my neck. Great lather from the Yardley. FOTD®
Great shave, Dave! I’ve heard great things about the Stahly head, although I’ve never shaved with one. Thanks for the video! Enjoy your day and don’t work too hard!
SOTD MONDAY MORNING, MARCH 29, 2021 Drove in very early from the burbs to the condo to meet the Verizon Tech to have our internet restored. Been here over two hours with the poor guy chasing down exactly where in the building the fault occurred. Apparently the fault lay between our place and two switch boxes. All resolved! My shave this morning was excellent! The Dubl Duck Goldedge never fails to deliver an excellent mug shave. And there’s really nothing to be said about the Supply V2, it’s a superb modern re-engineered implementation of the injector razor concept, and is hands down the best injector I’ve ever used! When loaded with a Schick Twin blade it’s simply incomparable. My two pass ATG dome shave put the baby to bed! I feel clean, refreshed and oh-so-smooth! RAZOR: Dubl Duck Goldedge 11/16 (Mug), Supply V2 (Dome) BLADE: Schick Twin PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil BRUSH: RR 400 Noir Plissoft SOAP: Nancy Boy Signature POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Nancy Boy Signature Scent AS Balm and Cremo Cooling Post Shave Balm.
SE Shave # 182 Rating: 5 / 5 Razor: Valet Auto Strop VC4 Blade: Feather - FHS Brush: Ever Ready 200T Lather: Blackship Grooming Company La Concorde Aftershave: Black Ship Grooming Co. La Concorde Additional Care: Stirling Alum Block Thayer's Witch Hazel - Aloe Vera Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm Late morning shave and post. Arouse three hours later than my normal time. I put on a pot of coffee, made some cheddar biscuits and completed an X3Bar workout before 10:00. This morning I busted out the the Valet VC4 instead of going with the Micromatic OC. The result was a super smooth shave. An easy three passes did the trick. My agenda for the rest of the day is to work outside in the yard, cleaning out the flower beds, moving some stuff away from the shed that will have it’s asbestos siding removed next week and picking up some firewood. Hope you all have a great day gentlemen.
