I had also problems with my CVH MK No. 24 3/8”. But after successfully honed and a lot of stropping. I really love it, shave so good and smooth. Also really handy under the nose and around the chin.

CVH MK 32 in tortoise Kirinite, cream and splash were AdP. and a Keyhole 4 did the lathering. It’s difficult to have a more pleasant shave than this one!

I absolutely love the look and feel of this razor. I only shaved with this once before. It was good but, needed work. The blade is heavy and has a thick spine. The honing was slow. Perhaps the blade has a high Rockwell rating? Don't know. After perhaps 200 laps on the 8000 stone. I lapped her another 150 on the 12000 and 100 on the 15000. Just weight of the blade. Tried to not add any further pressure. Finishing with light lapping on the linen and leather strop.

I'm thrilled I went through it.

I took my time finding just the right angle this blade likes best. Once again, slow even strokes to get the feel for her. When I finally found that sweet spot, boy was I in heaven. The edge freely gliding through the soap cut my whiskers with a gentle ease. Hot water rinse and repeat for a second pass for those pesky neck hairs. Again, slow light pressure and off they came. Clean and smooth.

A cold water rinse and Witch Hazel cleanse finished the experience. Followed with a good shower and cologne to start an early morning day.

    6/8” Friedr ERN & Co. No. 752
Rubberset No. 3 Pure Badger Hair Brush
    Viking Scent free Shaving Cream.

Just arrived. Was interested to see how she would shave. I like it! The almost French Point(?) is very easy to use for detailed work under the nose. Precise and comfortable. Cut clean on the first pass with no pulling. Just smooth strokes. She even makes that cool shaving sound I like! :)

The second pass was nice and provided a clean shave all the way through. A+

Good Witch Hazel cleanse as usual. Creed Aventus for the days fragrance.

    Enjoy your day everyone!

Hope everyone has been well. I have been keeping busy so not much time for taking pics and posting but shaving every day.

First shave with my new Iwasaki, she came with a nice edge.

    Cold Water Rinse
    Barbasol Shave Cream
    The Bunny B-400 by Tom
    Gravjura 5/8
    CWR
Aqua Velva 5 in 1 ASB

The Barbasol Shave Cream lathered well with The Bunny B-400 by Tom. Two passes and touch ups with the Gravjura 5/8 straight razor gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Aqua Velva 5 in 1 ASB. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Yesterday was an interesting one, a soap experiment. The razor is a well worn Stille in ivory, the soap was XPEC unscented, scented with 2 pumps of Martin de Candre santal hand soap, a very nice scent. MdC fluid soaps are soaps, not detergents, and they will lather but the lather is airy and light with large bubbles, there’s no stearic acid of course. The lather is relatively stable though.

The lather smelled great and performed decently, but I’m thinking 2 pumps are too much, giving as much of the hand soap as the XPEC. The lather was ‘bubbly’ but improved after working the lather on my face. The lather diminished a little on my face, but surprisingly not in the bowl or on the brush. So more work is needed if I pursue an MdC santal-scented lather, one pump would be the next obvious trial.

The shave wasn’t bad but nothing spectacular either.

Today I was not in the mood for experiments, so the tried and true Filly 14 Novodur was up, soap was Savonnière du Moulin 30% and a splash of Harris Pink finished up. I am BBS+
