Awesome pictures from the Kayak, Troy. Kayaking is sooooooo relaxing.

Excellent first run with the Windsor. What base plate are you using with the ATT? You will enjoy it for many years to come. Take care.

Most excellent shave, Andrew. I have a Timeless bowl but my son confiscated it. They are great. Love the brush and lather shot.

Hang in there and keep us posted when you have time. Y'all are in our prayers.

Thanks Jason. I have some Delrin on order and should be here on Monday. Hopefully I can get some more turned next week. I also ordered some 1/2 inch for some razor handles.

    Take care.

Great shave and pic Barry! I have heard that Winners do a fine job. I was piffed a tuck by Patrick from Canada and I am looking forward to trying them. Have a great Resurrection Sunday!

    Good morning!

Razor change and fresh Ladas SuperStainless blade. Ambassador up for Adjustable April. Opened all the way for an easy mindless shave. Four passes to make up for the pass I missed yesterday. Just the lightest tickle from the alum.

    Have a great day!

SOTD SATURDAY MORNING, APRIL 3, 2021

As many know, I enjoy daily shave variety, but sometimes one requires a focus to really get the hang of a new razor. That is definitely the case with the new Ellis & Allan Stubtail 8/8. After a good stropping on two pasted strops followed by a leather strop, I was ready for round 2. One of the good things about using any shaving tool is that it brings home those characteristics that you like as well as those that you don’t. The weight of this razor feels good; it’s the heft (ie maneuverability) that can be challenging. I’m quite comfortable with all my other straights in working below my jawline. The length of this big heavy blade makes toe down passes in that area challenging because of the curve there. However, a skin stretch straight up solved the problem by creating a relatively flat, planar surface. The result was the kind of smoothness I enjoy in my mug shaves. My faithful little Ronson cleaned up my noggin in its usual two ATG passes putting the baby to bed. I feel refreshed, clean and oh-so-smooth!

RAZOR: Ellis & Allan Stubtail 8/8 (Mug), Ronson Safety Razor (Dome)
    BLADE: Schick B-20 Proline Injector
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: JT Sapele/Resin with an Omega Pro48 Boar Knot
    SOAP: A&E Kaizen
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Pre de Provence Bergamot & Thyme AS Balm.

April 3 Stirling Saturday Shave of the Day

    Good morning guys!

I picked my # 1A brush for this morning's shave because I haven't used it in awhile. I love this brush despite it being a lather hog. I decided to have a hot water shave and wet my face with the brush. Did not squeeze out the excess water because most of it is on my face. I decided to soft load the soap and alternate between lathering and loading until I got a nice, creamy slick lather. Really guys, Stirling is not finicky when it comes to lathering. The Wosty took care of my 2 day growth in just 2 passes without any touchups for a near BBS shave. I didn't get any bloodshed nor irritation during this shave. This edge is still going strong after 43 shaves since I first honed it using films.
Did my usual postshave ritual to end this nice, comfortable shave. I took my time today and from prep to shave it took me 20 minutes. Have a wonderful day gents!
