This is
Red, the best trail horse I’ve ever had the pleasure to ride and certainly own. When I gave up horses, he was the last to go. Worth many thousands of $$. I gave him to a gal and her daughter who I knew would love and care for him all the rest of his days.
He was really great to this guy and was rumored to carry iced brewed beverages in his saddle bags for him.

This is
My Fine Steed #1. Rumored to have been carefully crafted on 100+ year old equipment from 50+ year old forged blanks.
My top shaver and the one I always go to for a reminder of ‘why I do this’. It still sports the great edge given by the man who crafted it.

My Fine Steed #2
I thought I should have a second on when they became available. 50% of this shipment was gone in days.
It is a more modern forging from a very similar die set. It rivals the first and I’m happy to have it.
Not quite so thin an noisy. A little longer on both sides of the pivot. And has a bit of a smile built in.
Wholesaled with specific instructions ‘not to be rehoned’ before retailing.

A showdown was called for.......

The combo delivered a remarkable shave. My Fine Steed #1 maybe was a little smoother since it had been on sub-micron cBN pasted balsa strops.
If I had not been such an impulsive fanboy, perhaps I would have opted for one of the slight variations of this same shaver that are from this same forged blank.
Happy Easter Holiday to all!
