You won’t get me to touch a cigar nowadays. They always lead me back to cigs.

However........well deserved after all the retirement relaxation you’ve been slaving away at.

 

I quit smoking January of 2014 and haven't had one since. I enjoy the occasional cigar and knock on wood it hasn't led me back to smoking.

Edit: I quit smoking cigarettes. I was over a pack a day since I was a teenager.

I got in three pounds of shave soap yesterday. Yes, you read right...three pounds.


Y'all know I'm a big fan of Imperial Barber shave soap. It is just a basic unscented glycerine soap that gets the job done.

I read on one of the forums that the Imperial soap is just rebranded SFIC shaving melt and pour shave soap base. So my inquiring mind had to find out. I found a source for the soap at $3.88 a pound (24 cents an ounce) and it was just as cheap to ship three pounds as one. I ordered three pounds.

I took 4 ounces and melted it in a soap container in the microwave, let cool down and solidify.

I test lathered the SFIC and the Imperial as well. I can see no difference in the lather. Both soaps lather up quick and seems to feel the same. I'll probably give the SFIC a go with tomorrow's shave. Now I just have to figure out what to do with the other 44 ounces. I see some future PIFs.

I was thinking something else and wild was not it.

 

That's what I was thinking but they may be interchangeable terms. I need someone smarter than me to chime in.

 

I am glad that I never smoked cigs/cigars. Did smoke marijauna and did inhale, but it was only for a short time. Tried a pipe, but didn't care for it. Today, cigarettes are very expensive unless you live near an Indian reservation.

 

Congrats on giving up the nicotine Jim! I bet you noticed the difference when you breathe and taste food.

 

Nice pickup Danny and I thought Col. Conk glycerin soap was a steal!
