Thank you Claude. TI does put out some beautiful designs.
Now the functionality of this one... challenging. These scales are thick and bulky and throw the balance off, but you get used to it.

This razor shaves exceptionally well. So, when it calls, as it has been, it’s hard to say, “no.” Fabulous shave :happy036:

    My Fine Steeds

This is Red, the best trail horse I’ve ever had the pleasure to ride and certainly own. When I gave up horses, he was the last to go. Worth many thousands of $$. I gave him to a gal and her daughter who I knew would love and care for him all the rest of his days.

He was really great to this guy and was rumored to carry iced brewed beverages in his saddle bags for him.

This is My Fine Steed #1. Rumored to have been carefully crafted on 100+ year old equipment from 50+ year old forged blanks.

My top shaver and the one I always go to for a reminder of ‘why I do this’. It still sports the great edge given by the man who crafted it.

    My Fine Steed #2

I thought I should have a second one when they became available. 50% of this shipment was gone in days.

It is a more modern forging from a very similar die set. It rivals the first and I’m happy to have it.

Not quite so thin and noisy. A little longer on both sides of the pivot. And has a bit of a smile built in.

Wholesaled with specific instructions ‘not to be rehoned’ before retailing.

    A showdown was called for.......

The combo delivered a remarkable shave. My Fine Steed #1 maybe was a little smoother since it had been on sub-micron cBN pasted balsa strops.

If I had not been such an impulsive fanboy, perhaps I would have opted for one of the slight variations of this same shaver that are from this same forged blank.

    Happy Easter Holiday to all!

    5/8 DoubleDuck GoldenEdge
BarberShoppe No. 3 Horse Hair Brush
    Viking Scent free Shave Cream
    Creed Green Irish Tweed

Spent a bit of time last evening giving the GoldenEdge a touch up. From the 15K stone to the linen and then to the leather Strop. Glad I did. Because this morning, this razor performed beautifully!
Hardly an effort to shave clean on the first pass. Shave was very smooth. Almost relaxing. The second pass was of course, for the pesky neck hairs. Slow deliberate strokes and the stubborn hairs succumb to this exceptional edge. Great Razor. A+

Thanks! The black one seems also to be in a good shape!? Really nice razors, think it is quite difficult to find those export models here in Sweden. Seems like the export series always start numbered 1XX.

Arme over at B&B has said that the Swedes did not care for wide razors and thought that Magnus Kindal was crazy for having them made because a wide razor would never sell. However, M.K. persisted and sold wide razors in his Paris shop and also exported them. I think this explains why you don’t see many wide razors in Sweden. I assume that M.K. also exported narrow and ‘normal’ width razors too.
