My newest adventure Elk Antler Handle that I was trying to decide on what to use for a base (antler MUST be sealed) Been sitting on the bench for a month or so I was out there yesterday working on a razor and I saw an Elk leg bone that I had processed years ago I cleaned off the shop gunk and the idea was hatched After the Epoxy dried I cut and fit the bone to the Antler Sanding and polishing brought out an almost Ivory like finish My friend Dan had sent me a few Synthetic knots to mess with, and I saved the best for this handle 24mm SilkSmoke knot Didn't notice until after, the Bone Base has a deep 3D effect that looks like Clouds in the light I tried to catch the effect... Yeah I like this one
I like it! I have one in elk you made several years ago. My wife bought it for me for Christmas. Always a smile on my face when it comes around in the rotation.
I use Marine Epoxy, to glue on the base and to glue in the knots, that seals the core of the antler so it doesn't rot out
