A very nice shave this morning. Pulled out the New Deluxe for no reason in particular. The PermaSharp was already loaded and seemed to still have life in it. As a few others have pointed out, the Mikes is a fine, rich lather. This scent isn't perhaps as straightforward as a few others of his and isn't 'wow' inducing from me. It falls within the 'unique and pleasant' range pour moi.
3 passes later I was very smooth. This New Deluxe isn't the smoothest feeling shaver in the den, but it sure does the job efficiently. JoeC inspired me to bring out the Bon Vivant to match. A great choice.

April Focus

Howdy everyone.
The doughnut continues to grow and one of these days, I am going to post a picture,
that only the very few have ever witnessed.
I will say that MdC is very slick and protective. The fougère is one of my favorites.
My second favorite is Valobra, which is a better soap base by far, and the scents,
while fairly different, both are respectable fougères.
MdC is to Penhaligon's as Valobra is to Fabergé Brut.
Second, and final use of the Gillette Silver Blue. These are "ok" blades, really nothing to seek out.
Inserted in the 1947 Super-Speed, at least one is guaranteed of a secure blade sans chatter.
I performed the ritualistic 3-Pass shave and I am darn close to a full BBS.

Fraghead Notes:



Many reviewers compare this perfume to Tom Ford Tuscan Leather.
Having never smelled that, I will just have to take them at their word.
The raspberry opening is refreshing and as it dries down, the leather/wood dominates.​

Very good shave this morning with the Bay Rum combo of Jeeves soap and Stephan A.S. About a minute total in loading the Jayaruh(59). 2 passes. Two knicks did show up during the first. Clearly a bit too much pressure in those areas. One was at the SW side of North Porcupine, the other at the SE side of South Porcupine. Again a slow, careful drag up the left side of North Porcupine(where the first Knick was). Nice work down at Cactus Nation(neck). It;s strange how it's easy to shave the left side, but not so the right(where the ingrown hairs are).. Cheeks and sideburns are angel-soft. Most Excellent.
