    Thanks Tom.
Subtle differences from the first. Competitive shave report to follow.

Nice. How is it? I finally tried my first French razor and so far I am very happy with it.

Saw this one on the auctions and couldn't resist.
Never heard of the brand but at 8/8, couldn't be bad right.

Nice looking razor. It appears to be post WWII.

Thank you. Yeah definitely post WWII. Nice and thin grind, as far as I can see it's pretty symmetrical.

I realize I haven't been around much, lately. But I have acquired two really interesting razors. Here's the first unboxing, called "Bone Mosaic" by Victor Creazzi. It's a SanMai pattern-welded design with a piece of 1095 steel forged welded for the edge. It a bellied full hollow ground, and an amazing shaver. Really like it!

Here is the second razor, a stub tail full wedge circa 1810-1815 Sheffield cast steel blade imported by Ellis and Allan, a Va Mercantile firm in existence from 1800-1824. Just a side note, John Allan one of the two partners was Edgar Allan Poe's stepfather. Glen Mercurio (@gssixgun) took the NVOS (new very old stock) naked blade (8/8), dressed it in period bone scales, brass pins, custom beehive brass washers, an amber wedge, and honed it to perfection. It's a great shaver although it weight (255 grams) and size (7" closed from end of scales to end of tang) is unusual for a stubtail of that era (please correct me if I'm mistaken in this). Here it is:

Thanks, Steve! It was much larger than I was used to, but I've been shaving with it over a week, and finally got the hang of it. The Victor Creazzi razor is also a great shaver.

Congrats Jeff! That Bone Mosaic is such a beautiful look and his grinding is impressive.

Those are beautiful razors. There’s something about the Ellis and Allan blade that is really calling to me :love055:

Thanks, Karl! It's unusually large for a Sheffield stubtail of that era.

I have not found any Korean razors, I do not think any were made in South Korea. There were some razors made in North Korea but I have not added one to the collection yet.
