Razor: Asylum 17-4 Handle and Top Cap/Timeless .68 SB Plate
    Blade: Wizamet (1)
    Brush: Paladin Vesuvius Chief
Soap: Hub City Red Cabin in the Woods
    AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
    AS 2: Dragonsbeard
    Fragrance: Dragonsbeard

Well I'm assuming the .68 and .95 baseplate would have the same effect on the 17-4 razor top cap. I had the 68 loaded together from the day before and just went with that setup. It certainly makes it efficient but I would not call it smooth. I with care and attention to technique had a 3 pass shave that has me with smooth skin. It required a VERY light touch. I tried to get a picture of the exposure of the blade but it's hard to get the blade to show up as it's so thin. It felt like a razor blade on a stick at times. I preferred the shave with the o-ring and adjusting for efficiency and yet smoothness over this. Whether I take to filing the baseplate or not will require some forethought before attempting.

Yesterday evening after checking on my parents our phones starting going off with Tornado Warnings, not alerts of Watches but Warnings to take shelter immediately in a basement. Had about 4 separate Warnings come across on my phone. Welcome to spring in the South. Problem was I still had one more job to do and a couple of hours before heading home (50 minute drive). After looking outside at the sky and seeing just some clouds where I was and where I was heading for work but the Dark and Black clouds and thunder/Lightning was just to the North and West. Quick check of radar shows it was continuing to track on a Northeastern direction. That's the direction to go home and so I felt I would get the last job done before heading into the storm. Worked out well as it put me in the middle of the 2 cells tracking thru. As I drove thru the path the 1st one had gone thru, lots of vegetation on the road with the hail that shredded it. The warm road with the melting hail made it hard to see thru the resulting steam but arrived home safely after a fun adventure. Working late yesterday has me off today to tend to things on our hill here. Hope everyone has a great day !!

So I guess I misunderstood the focus. I thought it was the Rockwell Blades nit their razors. My bad, I have razors I'm still checking out but will use Rockwell Blades for the 1st time but in different razors 1 of which will be a 6s.....

Happy Friday Everyone. I decided to change things up some and pulled out the Feather AS-D2. When I first started out I thought the pinnacle of wet shaving was having the ability to master the most aggressive razors. Overtime my thoughts have flipped. I think a better measurement of technique is the ability to master milder razors. No matter which DE razor you use, the blade touches the skin and that is what does the cutting. However, the milder razor or the adjustable on a lower setting require more consistent technique to deal with the narrow sweet spot of the razor. I guess this is my long way of explaining my love of the Feather AS-D2. When I do my part, the shaves with the Feather are just as close as my shaves with the R41. Fortunately this morning I was in the zone. The Mondial whipped up the Fat into a rich slick lather. Three passes with the AS-D2 caught the baby after touch ups along the jawline and lower neck. A splash of Antesol followed by a spritz of Habit Rouge left me feeling and smelling fantastic. I hope everyone has a Great Friday.
