Thamks Jason! I thought that I would have to lower the setting, but it was fine at full throttle.

    Razor: Clauss Automatic Safety Razor
Blade: Gem Carbon Steel (2)/Gem Personna SS (1)
    Brush: Rubberset 400/Cashmere
    Soap: T&S Sicily 1508.5
    AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
    AS 2: Ethos Fresh Lime
    Fragrance: Paco Rabanne 1 Million

You know when you have a shave and everything just comes together. The scent of the soap is amazing, the lather is spot on and feels soooo good, you have Lather Talk Podcast playing in the background about the new Backland Era @ "Blackland Razors" , the razor is a cool piece of history or the latest modern razor out and it's smooth as butter............................This wasn't that shave AT ALL ! :happy097: Well, it was all that except the Carbon Steel blade was just giving me stalls while trying to shave like a 1979 Chevy Chevette. After 2 passes of tugging I switched to a SS Gem and it was cutting thru the whiskers and getting me the BBS shave I desire. Problem is I was bloodier than Peewee Herman in a box fighting a pack of Rabid Cats. I can't remember the last time I was this tore up and I mean in years ! So I'm not sure if it was the carbon steel blade and how rough it was. Trust me at how bad it was because I NEVER stop and change blades mid shave and had to. Or was it how aggressive the Clauss is. I think it's a pretty aggressive razor but can be tamed and I will but it will need to be respected. While I had the CS blade in it I was thinking this was a purchase that's one shave and into the collector status of sitting because it's a cool piece of history but I wouldn't want to shave with it. After putting the SS blade in I felt well okay now we have a shaver but she wants some respect and care given to her. A cool razor that I'm happy to have grace my den. Looking forward to @twhite Tom's thoughts on his shave with his today ! I have not missed a day of shaving since I started keeping track in 2 and a half years but this shave has me contemplating skipping a day tomorrow..........................NAH, I'll get back to again tomorrow. Finished off with some Fresh Lime SFS by Ethos for repairs of the skin. Off to coffee and a piece of pie while forum reading before work. Jab 2 of the Pfizer shot was received yesterday and came home to weed whacking the hill/yard and mowing the grass. So far just a sore arm. Have a great day Everyone !!

    Good morning!

Woke up way too early. I've been up for a few hours now. Coffee and breakfast, complete. Shower and shave, done. Brought out the Slim to stay on theme. Opened all the way up to make it quick and easy. Three passes for near BBS. Just the lightest tickle from the alum at my adams apple.

    Have a great day!

If you haven't tried A&E, do yourself a favor a grab a tub. It's the best artisan soap that I've tried to date, and the price isn't bad at all for what you get. Wholly Kaw and Grooming Dept. make up the majority of what I have, and both are fabulous soaps. A&E ups the ante on performance at a lower cost. The hydration band is pretty forgiving, but it can take a lot of water and just keeps getting better the more you push it. There's probably a tipping point somewhere, like maybe if you turn a garden hose on it.

My apologies if I miss anyone..

    Thank you, Clint!

Thanks Jeff! You can't go wrong with a SynBad knot. I changed things up by putting the 2BED knot in this handle, and a SilkSmoke knot in a Simpson handle just for some variety. AP Shave Co has a nice selection of great knots. Not to wish my life away...I'm envious of the MOLC club. Hopefully eleven more years and I'll get there.
Congrats Jim @jluc on retirement!! I hope you enjoy each and every minute!

Thanks Joe! It really is stunning in person.

Thank you, Jason! For some reason, you came to mind when I was ordering the knots from APS recently. I was wondering if you've ever tried the 2BED knot. From only one use, it seems very different than any other synthetic I've tried. The amount of scrub and backbone this knot exhibits is amazing. The other characteristic that's notable - it doesn't hog lather. There was hardly any left inside the knot upon squeezing out the excess, prior to rinsing.
