    DE Shave # 336

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Fatip Grande Open Comb
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
Brush: Shore Shave Creamsicle Swirl 24 mm White Synthetic
Lather: Dr. Jon’s Gravity (1508.5 April Focus)
    Aftershave: Aqua Velva Musk
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block
Thayer's Witch Hazel - Aloe Vera
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Another wonderful shave with the Dr. Jon's Gravity and the Fatip OC razor. Three passes delivered a super smooth and comfortable shave. The synthetic brush whipped up a nice thick, creamy lather. Gravity is a pleasant scent that pairs well with the AV Musk.

A dreary weather day this morning. I guess the flowers will benefit from the decent amount of rain in the forecast for the day. The first week of having a majority of the 8th graders in the building full time has been relatively uneventful despite a few moments of "Knucklehead Mania". Next week should be even more interesting as the 7th graders will have the option to come back full time. This will make my last ten weeks interesting.

    Have a great day gentlemen.

Thanks, Bruce. Early retirement was a goal I set in my early twenties. A lot of hard work and a good bit of luck and I was in a position to make it happen.
    Thank you, Clint!

    Shark Super Chrome Blade (fresh)
    Simpson T3 Trafalgar brush
    Soap Commander Drive
Irish Chestnut by Andy Hilfiger cologne

Awesome shave this morning. The T3 made quick work of the Soap Commander this morning. I put a fresh Shark blade in the Rockwell and got three nice passes this morning with no drama. The Sharks are not as smooth as the Astras but are not a bad blade. It seems to do an excellent job in the 6C.

A little witch hazel followed by the Irish Chestnut and I'm ready for the day.

Happy Thursday everyone and remember......today is the first day of the rest of your life. :)

Happy Thursday everyone. Back with the La Toja cream again today. I am making a dent in the cream but it is taking time to finish this thing off. Three passes and touch ups ended in an automatic drama free BBS shave. I hope everyone has great Thursday.

Thanks Joseph and yes this one was sent to me to see what I think of it. It was only the second shave with it after having it cleaned and dried after the first shave. My thoughts are that I will stick with stainless steel gems

This morning(Thursday)'s shave was quite good. Loading process was the same as yesterday, 0:25, followed a bit later by 0:10. I wanted to be sure the Jayaruh(#59)had a lot of soap to work with. I left a little more than usual at NW Porcupine. Maybe this was due to doing so well at NE Porcupine, the area that has become real tough to do. I celebrated too much I forgot the other side. Ah, I don't know. Cheek and sideburn areas are BBS. Cactus came out good. A final touch-up at the lower back of the neck and wrists with the Oud Maknoon fragrance. Most Excellent.

This razor gave me the idea for Tom's masterpiece: The DE-Vette.
Regardless of the gap, a razor is a razor. It's the blade, NOT THE GAP that shaves you.

Proof was in the pudding and now our friend Terry counts the DE-Vette as his favorite razor.
Today, I started with an upward stroke on my neck. Don't know why, just because.
Completed the shave without any issues. Didn't chase the baby, but most of my face is BBS smooth.
My fragrance today is something that is not listed on basenotes.net or Fragrantica.
    Oud Al Layl by Arabiyat.
Here's a link to one of my favorite YouTube fragrance reviewers, talking about this perfume.

SOTD THURSDAY MORNING, APRIL 15, 2021

Mitten has returned. The Vet wants to see him in three days, but he’s otherwise continuing to improve each day, so back to the shave. It’s always fun to shave with one’s first straight razor. This is the razor, a Dovo Special 5/8, my son recommended for me 6 years ago. As a straight razor shaver with more than two decades experience, he honed it for me, as he didn’t think much of the factory edge. Rather than rehash the ups and downs of my journey, all I’ll say is that I’ve developed a sentimental attachment to it. Is it my best shaver, not even close, but it does deliver a decent mug shave. I did select one of my two favorite Gillette safety razors, the New LC, for my dome shave, the other being the New Standard. The shave went well with my SynBad knot equipped MrEE LE brush again delivering gobs of rich, slick, protective lather. I feel refreshed, cool and very smooth!

RAZOR: Dovo Special 5/8 (Mug), Gillette New LC (Dome)
    BLADE: Feather DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: MrEE Aluminum LE with SynBad Knot
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with PAA Frost Byte AS/Cologne.

After reading many of the people on the SE thread raving about the carbon blades, I decided to give them a try. I am with @Primotenore , they suck. Way too much work for a sub par blade. I just stay with the PTFE Gem blades now.

Shave 2 on the Rapira. Not as nice as the Astra, but a decent shave nonetheless. I decided to let my mustache and chin whiskers come back. I have a couple of moles on my upper lip that get sliced every three or four shaves and I rarely get my upper lip smoothly shaved, so back to facial hair.
