    Thank you!
    Thank you Joe!
    Thank You Clint!
Thanks Jeff! The Gibbs is the only adjustable that I’ve kept around. I’m excited about the release of Heritage Collection Shaving’s release of their clone of it this spring!
Thank you! I’m determined to get it right this weekend!

You’ll get no argument from me, Jason! I get excellent shaves from mine. I think the entire Gillette New model line represents the most efficient shavers Gillette ever designed. :)

They’ve been talking about the clone for a while. I’ve gotten so used to modifying my blades for my Gibbs (I have two) that I’ll be sticking with my originals. The only new razors coming into my den now are straights. I’m very content with my safety razor rotation. :)

It's the 4th shave of the Rockwell mini-focus.
It's also the 4th shave on the Feather blade.
Everything worked well. Got a BBS shave with 2 passes and no errors. Just added the splash without the balm and witch hazel. Have a good day!

Happy Friday Everyone. I decided to breakout the PAA ShaveRite brush. I am happy to report that the Maggard Mixed knot has officially been defunked. With the smell gone I was able to fully enjoy the knot while face lathering. I really like this mixture of boar and badger. Three passes and touch ups ended in another automatic BBS shave. A splash of Agua Balsamica put the exclamation on the shave. My wife and I are off to get our second jab this morning. I hope everyone has a great Friday.

SOTD FRIDAY MORNING, APRIL 16, 2021

Today’s shave featured two great shavers, my Tanifuji Airi 11/16 and my 1920 vintage Gillette Big Fellow. It’s a shave of firsts! The first Japanese silver steel straight razor I acquired, the first model of the Gillette Big Fellow, albeit from the second year of production, and the first LE aluminum handled shave brush model the supremely talented MrEE ever offered to the 30DC Crew ever at TSD.

The hybrid knot on the MrEE brush while not the softest is a superb lather generator. I bloom my MWF routinely which always yields gobs of lather. The edge on this little Tanifuji is what led to my acquiring two more. Japanese razors never fail to please! And that was certainly the case this morning. Three slow, leisurely passes left you happy narrator with a delightfully smooth mug!

Gillette's experiment to upsize their successful Old Type after World War I certainly works well for yours truly. I own two 1905 Old Types which shave well, but this larger version works better for me. Gillette later changed the head design to their New model design, but I do enjoy the upsized Old Type head on the Big Fellow. Two ATG dome passes left my noggin velveteen smooth and oh-so-happy! The Alt-Innsbruck AS splash put the icing on the cake.

RAZOR: Tanifuji Airi 11/16 (Mug), Gillette Big Fellow (Dome)
    BLADE: Feather DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: MrEE LE Knurled Aluminum Handle Hybrid Knot #007
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Alt-Innsbruck AS Splash.

    Razor: FA Clauberg CopperKing 6/8
Brush: MrEE Limited Edition #017 Cashmere 24 mm
    Lather: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
    Aftershave: B & M Reserve Fern
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block
Thayer's Witch Hazel - Aloe Vera
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm
Chatillon Lux La Forèt de Liguest EdT

I decided to give the FA Clauberg another go after the first shave with it had a slight over sharpness or tugging feel to it. Today, the blade performed much better. It delivered a very smooth three pass shave.

Today the avatar will change to the final double digit in the countdown to entry into the MLOC. Hope you all have a great day gentlemen.
