Thanks, Joe, this razor took an amazing edge, which astounded me! Glen Mercurio was raving about the steel on this brand of razor being capable of taking an amazing edge. I have two, and hadn’t sat down and honed either on the Shapton progression. Normally I kill the point on my 320k Diamond plate. I forgot, being amazed and all! Never again! ;)

Tonight’s shave. Got a decent shave from what I’d consider the fanciest razor I own. I honed it just a few minutes before I shaved. It pulled a little, but I was able to complete my shave. I’ll give it another session on the stones soon.

    Razor: Boker “our own”
    Soap: Arko
    Brush: synthetic
    Aftershave: Barbasol Brisk. [IMG]

So true, I don’t have to many safety razors, but I do have a lot of straight razors. The 12 straight razors I use the most are in a display case hanging in the bathroom. I really need to figure out how/ where to store the others. I have two medicine cabinets in my small bathroom, but I need to organized them better. I have a very small bathroom, so I have straights tucked away everywhere. So glad I have a understanding wife!

Approximately half my straights are in coffins, but I place them and my loose straights in 2 big plastic box-shaped containers with lids.
My Mad Max ( nickname for my Max Sprecher custom ) came in its own fancy box that has a magnetic lid so it stays separate from the other razors. I found these plastic containers at my local drugstore by the school supplies.

Thank you, Joe. She definitely needs a little more work on the stones. I’ll touch her up, on the next session.

great idea. I’ll have to check out those boxes. I also keep most of my razors in their coffin boxes. I also use toothbrush holders. They work great when traveling.

An awesome collection that you obviously keep very good care of, Jim. Outstanding. I won’t even point out the glaring Stirling omission...
