Great shave today. The grandkids are over and I let the granddaughter pick out the brush and soap today. Orange was the choice and the brush looks like lightning.....her class is studying storms.

The Razorock Soap just impresses me everytime I use it. This soap punches way above its price point.

I really enjoy the Famex and I appreciate Dave @Dave in KY loaning this puppy to me. Three smooth drama free passes for an almost BBS.

A little witch hazel followed by the the glorious stank.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

I didn't like the color of the original scales that he was going to use so he decided to change it. I wanted sapphire kirinite,but for some reason he couldn't get it so this was the next best thing. He just has to hone it before it gets shipped. Saturday shave: Today's 30DC related brush was acquired from a primo tenor, my favorite handle is a large 'Polo' style so this one hit the sweet spot for me. She is a big girl with a fantastic knot. Today's steel is big chuck of stainless, a 8/8 Friodur. Not is this blade wide but it is 1/4 inch longer than a standard straight. It is some fantastic steel too, takes and holds a fantastic edge. Decided to go for it and added the extra WTG pass to close the shave. A tickle from the alum left just short of epic.

Lovely shave, Keith! I alwats struggle with the toe down pass on my neck with large blades. My largest is also an 8/8 Stubtail. Enjoy your day!

Brush: Omega 11047 Mixed Midget.
Face Lather.
Lather: Razorock "What The Puck? !" Orange Sunrise Shaving Soap.
Blade : Gillette Winner Platinum. (D1)
Razor : Parker 92r.

Cold water face wash with brush squeezings, Cold Water Face Rinse. /Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils. +3 Menthol Crystals, Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./Nivea Men ~ Sensitive Cooling PSB./Milton-Lloyd ~ no.9 Victor EDP.

A new shave set up to start the weekend... Finishing my month of using Indian made DE blades with the Gillette 7'0clock Super Platinum which was a superb match paired together with the Parker 92r made a smooth, sharp, & efficient Indian made duo...I can't remember the last time i used the Razorock"WTP?!" soap and forgot it takes a bit more time to build a lather, which for me isn't a big issue i found after the soap has been bloomed in tepid tap water for few minutes I'm rewarded with a rich, creamy slick lather leaving a good post shave feeling to my face. after the shave.

A enjoyable 3 pass +pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report

Finishing the shave off with a few generous squirts of Milton-Lloyd ~ no.9 Victor EDP to the pulse points.

My face is feeling smooth & smelling divine.

I took a 72 hour shave hiatus and this morning, took the Lalune to my Norton 8K/Naniwa 12K/Shapton 16K stones.
I think the more aggressive 8K Norton was necessary, after some wasted time on the Arkansas stones.
I did create a slurry with a 600K stone and, using two hands, performed about 30 laps (spine taped).
Moved to the 12K synthetic Naniwa. Similar laps, but I didn't really count.
I did keep my eye on the water and how it slid over/under the blade.
Lastly, the Shapton 16K Glass. (This stone feels more abrasive than the 12K Naniwa, go figure)
I then stropped the razor on my slightly, battle-scarred 3" strop (40x)
Piéce de résistance was the last 20 laps on my 2" Slavin.
Lather du jour was the ever-magnificent tallow Williams.
The Duke SiLVERTiP was luxurious on the face. You can see in the picture below,
the soap turns into some great goo, on par with anything on today's market---and oftentimes exceeding.

Well, let me say right away the edge was dramatically improved.
Disclaimer: I ALWAYS get better straight shaves with at least 72 hours growth,
however, this shave was pretty special. Cheeks and jaw are BBS, while the neck is very good+.
Today I chose an icon in the fragrance world. Some may consider it outdated,
but I consider it timeless.

This a pretty old bottle I found in Ebay and while it's a tester, without a top,
I got a great deal. These vintage bottles are commanding ridiculous prices.

I know you don't see me around much these days, but I always enjoy the erudite posts
and beautiful pictures.

Man it's been a long time since using the 921-H Plate and it reminded me that this is one of my favorites that will never.........that's right NEVER leave the Den. That's saying something in Dave's Ever Revolving Den. Smooth as can be but as efficient as all get out. Truly one of my best shavers. The Hive brush by Don is a monster that feels so good in the hand and this knot just seems so much better than your standard Tuxedo. Not sure why, but it whips a great lather. Had plenty to do a 3/4 pass shave on the face and to shave the neck as well which was overdue to separate the hair from the head from the hair on the back. Hitting it with Sunshine Man that I BLAME.........THANK Eric (Smattayu) for enabling me with a sample some time ago. It caused it to be an instant on "The Buy" list when I had the funds. It ain't cheap but everything from Amouage that I'v sampled is STRONG and you need to go easy on how many squirts. I'll be THAT GUY today for sure. Take care and enjoy your weekend !!

It’s breaking in wonderfully. Every day this month it’s been better than the last. The tips are splitting 3-4 times each and the heavy backbone is settling into just the right about for my liking. It’s a fantastic brush IMHO.
