  9. Thank you, sir!

I'm not typically a filter guy, but it really works with this composition. Nice work!

Razor: Gem Jr bar lather catcher- Mfg 1907-11, milder mid range, just a great razor with nice audio feedback, carefree shave!
Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE (7) excellent blade, very sharp, good longevity, nicely smooths out + predictable.
Soap: Proraso Red Sandal wood- great lather qualities, different sandalwood scent.
Brush: Yaqi 24mm boar bristle- nice feel to this brush but it is a shedder like they mentioned when buying on the cheap.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave: Proraso red sandalwood with witch hazel + a dollop of Nivea balm.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers=[IMG] Excellent shave with my Gem Jr bar with a coated Gem blade.

Just a wonderful shave. The El Jefe is super enjoyable and almost always delivers drama free shaves. A great evening and shaves to all....

  15. Proraso Red is my favorite so far! That said I did receive my samplers today from Captains Choice. The sandalwood scent of that one is in the same ballpark. I'm looking forward to shaving with that one in the morning!

  16. Sandal wood scents are some of my favorites and I have tried 4 different brands with TOBS Sandalwood, Proraso red, Ogallala Bayrum & sandal wood and Cyril R Salter Indian Sandalwood and they are all great and just different & that is the way I like it. Captains choice sounds like a good one to try some day. Proraso red Aftershave is real nice way to finish the shave IMO.

    Razor: Apollo
    Blade: Gillette Wilkinson
    Brush: Everready synthetic
Soap: La shaving - Santa Monica Bay Rum
    Post: Medicated witch hazel
    A/S: Pinaud Bay Rum

So lets get to the razor first. This apollo is always off/on the chopping block. The shaves always feel like im scrapping hair off. I’m not sure if its the gap it has or what, but blades always feel this way.

Now the soap, i have had this sample an easy 3 years... maybe more? Lol i dont remember which shave west in california i got it from. The point is that this soap smells alot like the Pinaud bay rum. Its really close and i love me some pinaud bay rum. I may have to get me some this in a full tub because i have asked in the past about a soap that i can match with the aftershave. Now with this soap, medicated witch hazel and with after shave.... man o man im diggin this shave something fierce. BBS SMOOOOOTH
