It was definitely a great day!
Attempted turkey hunting on a small wood lot my father in law owns. There is around 40 acres I can hunt there. It’s all mature forest. It’s in Frederick county Maryland. I’m not a great turkey caller, and the birds around here get a lot of hunting pressure. I’ve gone out the the last 2 Saturdays. Last Saturday, I located a gobbler, but he wouldn’t come to my calling. I was hoping, I’d have better luck yesterday, but the wind really messed things up. oh well, I’ll try again this Saturday.

Wow. I can think of no better indicator of how much that my world has changed in the last year than to randomly check on this group and suddenly realize it is Mayhem and the thought had never even crossed my mind. The good news about this is that it frees me up to consider my own stunt shave, rather than encouraging the stupidity of others. I think my last stunt shave was that discarded piece of scrap metal that Jason sent me several years ago. I forget the name of that stupid thing but it shaved about as well as a butter knife. Anyhoo, upon reflection, I used to think some of the stunt shaves performed here were insane, but over the course of a few years, this group got me to a point where many of those same stunts now seem relatively benign and doable. In other related news, my girls are sad not to be filming a Shavey awards show, but such is life. Cheers gentlemen. I’ll pop in occasionally just in case somebody does something really stupid I can make fun of. I’m guessing that shouldn’t take long.

No celebration, although I did get two calls, from my sister, and from my San Diego friend from college days. Perhaps my "celebration" was my good morning workout at the gym. Speakina the Derby, I enjoyed the "My Old Kentucky Home" played by the U. of Louisville marching band. Future Derby's should have either those guys or a solid barbershop 1/4tet doing that song. (Quartet).

Amouage perfumes are monsters, they arrive before you do and leave well after you left the room. Avoid Cuir d’Arabie is my favorite. It’s not one for the office but for :sexe:

Grewt to hear from you Randy. I miss the Shavey ceremonies.

Nice shave with an interesting razor Jason! I hope the razor doesn't break apart when you use to shave a 48 hr growth.

The R41 is a great razor. I have the R102 which has the same head as the R41. Last night, I used it to headshave and got a perfect BBS shave with it.

Very nice shave Simon. I have used Arko and never had the lather dry out because I make sure I really hydrate my lathers. I think what you experienced is a higher soap to water ratio. Try adding more water to Arko and I think you will be amazed by its performance.

    XPEC~~Simpson PL8~~RR Game Changer/Wizamet~~Acqua di Parma
OK, I am going to do weekly "foci". This week will include:
XPEC, PL8, GC and a Wizamet Super Iridium.
My first use of XPEC on Friday, was bowl-lathered, and I found the lather to be "airy".
Today, I wet my face and took a finger-full of the product and rubbed it in.
Took the soaked PL8 and started working the lather.
This knot has a tad of scrub, so it really is good at exfoliating and setting up the whiskers for removal.
You can see below, the nice shine of the lather.

Wizamet Super Iridiums are fantastic blades and while you won't get 25 shaves from one,
the 3-4 you do get are quite satisfying.

This crew knows how I feel about the Game Changer and today was no exception.
BBS all over, including the elusive neck.
I paired my Italian shave cream with an Italian EdC.
Perfect juice for a beautiful, sunny day.

Fine, Fine shave Barry! I don't own the Mühle R89, but I am sure is a great razor for you. I like aggressive razors and my R102 is great for me. Based on my experience with the R102, Mühle makes very good razors.
