Thinking of taking a day off from shaving for the first time since Valentine Day. Wait, who am I trying to kid? The daily luxury of a simple wet shave is the way I pamper myself. But, photos...? Not always inspired to grab the phone and take a shot of the same stuff every day.

I know I've taken a step back on the thread. It was actually easier to keep up with pre-retirement. At work I had defined breaks and a whole lot of hurry up and wait. Now I check in when I think about it which seems to be less and less everyday.

As a long term member I have faced the same conundrum several times. I even took a break from the thread for several months. I don’t judge anyone on how they choose to participate. Rather I am happy they decided to participate.

Joe. I have lost count of the number of regulars that have left over the years without explanation. It is very easy for a unintended little break to become long term or permanent.

Awesome shave Joe. I have several of those containers that I use to make shave sticks. They work very well.

Thanks, Joe! She's all better. It hit me late Thursday afternoon which made for a bit of a rough night but I was nearly back to normal Friday morning.

Colibri (Hummingbird) safety razor with 0.80mm plate.
    Feather blade
    Razorock P160 shave soap.
    Simpson T3 Trafalgar
    Royal Copenhagen Cologne

I absolutely love P160 soap. It punches way above its price point, whips up quick and just feels great. It is hard to beat.

Clint @clint64 and Jim @jluc got me thinking about the mild plate in this set. Clint has mentioned several times how he appreciates the milder plates as he has grown in his shave journey. Jim mentioned yesterday about how the 0.38 plate in his Timeless shaves as good as anything in his den. So it was a concentrated focus on the 0.80mm Colibri plate this morning.

I loaded a Feather in this puppy and really tried to focus on and maintain the correct angle. I discovered that you really have to get on the bar for this one. If the correct angle is maintained you can hear the whiskers being cut. I completed three smooth passes with just a few touch ups. The alum was quite. Overall a very nice shave that was almost and I mean almost in BBS territory.

So what did Danny learn this morning? Slow down and focus. Even a mild razor with no blade feel can delivery a great shave.

A little witch hazel and a few squirts of Royal Copenhagen and this one was in the bag.

I had mentioned the overhang on the Colibri yesterday and Joe @Trigger mentioned grabbing the bottom plate to remove or attach the handle. That is a little better but I have a habit of grabbing my razors from the top plus the bottom plates on the Colibri are thin. I don't mind trimming the blades with kitchen shears.
