The handles are drilled for a 24mm knot. I think Dave shoe horned a 26mm in his by enlarging the hole a little.

@Hembree By the way, I neglected to mention that I got Danny's Delrin handle today. It really looks great! Thank you Danny, I really appreciate it. Now, I have to look for a 24 mm knot. Do I go synthetic, boar, or badger? Decisions, decisions, decisions.

 

It's more about exposure than gap. The Blackbird is only .58 and I find it to be on the aggressive side and the Timeless Bronze OC is .78 and it's a real face peeler without the proper respect.

I did have a nice relaxing day.
