    SUNDAY'S SHAVE

Razor - Gillette Superspeed (circa 1947-1952) (Re-plated in Nickel Finish by Razor Emporium)
    Blade - [IMG] *2nd shave
Shave Brush - Declaration Grooming "Fatty" in custom green color with Synthetic Knot
Shave Cream - Procter & Gamble Old Spice "Fresh Lime"
Suribachi Lather Bowl handmade by Of the Dirt Pottery
Deodorant - Shulton Old Spice Lime Talc (circa 1967-1970)
Aftershave - Shulton Old Spice Lime (circa 1966-1976)
Fragrance - Shulton Old Spice Lime Cologne Splash (circa 1966-1976)

I'm skipping the use of the bath soap and the deodorant stick since these items are extremely rare and I will use them very selectively over the coming years while trying to make them last as long as possible.

Hi Tim your razor looks brand new! I'm guessing you're happy with the work done by the folks @ Razor Emporium. Look at the web site and watching their videos it's good to know their are specialists like them out there!

They restored the best remaining pieces of two antique 1907-1913 era (over a century ago) ABC Empire razor sets and made them into a single set for me. It is my prize razor.

To say I'm pleased is an understatement.

Here is the original condition of that razor set:

And the purple felt inside the original was ratty, tattered and mildew-mold'ed. They replaced the original purple felt and I didn't think they would agree to attempt it as they are just razor restoration specialists, not fabric specialists.

I originally ordered two different sets, one from Argentina and one from New York. Those two sets became "one" with the best of the remaining pieces as you saw in the original condition pictures. The entire adventure cost me a little over $650 to have a fully functioning antique Gillette American Button Company Empire Razor. No expense was spared. Razor Emporium accomplished way more than I imagined was possible. It took me well over a year to even find sets on Ebay with enough intact pieces to even make a set. That's how rare these are. In my opinion, this is worth way more than $650. I would have paid over $1,000 for a restored antique this pristine to use in my den.

Brings a tear to my eye that a razor from so long ago can be made young again as if time never passed.

That brush, bowl and razor really go well together as a set. Especially for a bay rum kind of theme.

    Hi Friends,

my Shave of the Day has just ended. Here is what I had fun with...

    3C90B7DF-66E4-4F44-B1A8-E8BD0490A2B3.jpeg
Razor: Joseph Rodgers & Sons // Soap: Extro Felce Biancospino // Brush: Semogue 1438 // Aftershave: Extro Felce Biancospino // Music: Jean-Michel Jarre - Equinox Infinity

Good shave. Not BBS but not far away from it. The Straight Razor is very gentle. Soap and Aftershave performed and smelled great.

Have a great day, enjoy your shaves, take care and stay healthy.

    Greetings
    Thorsten

Apart from the fact that I can't access my Italian forum, today is a pleasant day: not too much sun, not too much heat and a priceless silence!
A perfect day for cologne fragrances and this cream smells just like the EDT, lathers up fantastically and is very lubricant.

    I'm smooth and happy.

The Old Spice Original Shaving Cream lathered well with Jayaruh #199 Synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the 1902 Kampfe Brothers/Star Lather Catcher with a Star Wedge blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Granddad's Blend AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Thank you, Sergio.
To me it's a beautiful fresh natural orange scent. My nose really doesn't pick up the smoke that's in the scent description.
