Currently waiting on ten Feather carbon steel SE blades so I can strop them in my beloved Valet Auto Strop razor and get 50-60 shaves out of a disposable blade!
Colibri (Hummingbird) safety razor 1.30mm open comb plate and a Voevoda stainless steel polished handle from Homelike Shaving.
Never heard of them but they look nice. Just seems like artisan razor are coming out of everywhere this past year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Homelike has been around for a while. I have their Start razor (with two plates) and it's a quite good value in SS and a fine shaver. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
Just saw this and couldnt resist the few goodies. The shaving cream dish was the eye catcher for me and then the lather catcher
Yeah I don't know if the razor will be shave worthy but I've never seen another example of the set. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
My new Pearl Flexi arrived this past Saturday, and I finally got around to taking it for its inaugural face drive tonight! Fantastic shave, paired with a new Parker Premium Platinum DE blade. Set on No. 3.5, it slalomed its WTG first pass through the always wonderful Tabac shave cream, taking all hair with it. I then lathered again, set it to No. 3 and went for the ATG second pass. Done. Resulted in a BBS both ways! Finished off with some Tet-A-Tet aftershave balm. Sidenote: As there were some quality issues - as there always is with a new razor model - I wanted to touch on those. My Flexi is a V4 (4th batch made) and everything works perfect with it. No blade gap issues, no bowed guards, no odd blade slants. Adjusting is smooth and perfect. Really the only issue I encountered is the painted red dot indicator... When I am done shaving and washing off real good my razors, I always dip them in 91% isopropyl alcohol, aka rubbing alcohol. When I did this with this razor, I immediately noticed some red oozing coming from the red dot indicator. I dried it off real good with the end of a q-tip which left red paint residue on the q-tip. This obviously does not affect the shave but it is still rather disappointing for a brand new razor.
Maybe if you baked the razor in the oven for a couple hours it will harden the paint? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I use Nu-Finish as a protectant (non wax non abrasive) but I don't know how it holds up to regular alcohol dunks. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
