Gelle Freres Brush: Razorock Suds & Splash: Razorock The Dead Sea One of my larger old French faux framebacks at around 15/16”... with a buttery smooth Coticule edge. Enjoy your shave. Tom
6/8 Robert Klass Kissing Cranes, another oldie but goodie, soap and AS were Floris 89 and a Rooney brush did the lathering. Those of you who were around in the ‘70s will remember that Robert Klass made some junk, especially pocket knives. The steel was excellent, but the fit and finish was below Gold Dollar levels. This razor is not junk though, it’s very well made, nice scales and crisp jimps top and bottom. Just a nice mellow old razor.
7/8 Diamante Viking Cream and Classic Shave Soap I used this razor several times. It graded from C- to a B+ after re-honing. Wanted to get her to an A. Spent some time on the 12K and 15K stones as well as a few hundred laps on the strop. It worked well. Provided a very comfortable shave this morning. Need to spend a few more mornings with it in order to become more familiar with the blades edge and shape.
Joseph Rodgers Brush: Razorock 400 Suds: The Sudsy Soapery Twisted Rose Balm: The Sudsy Soapery Blizzard Finish: Cartier Declaration d’un Soir Went through a buying binge of interesting to me scales. Mr. David Bell’s choice of razor... Enjoy your shave. Tom
Cape 1000 Swedish Steel, an unusual razor that might end up in vintage ivory if I can fins some that fits. The existing scales are too small, misaligned, and the heel is ‘feelable’ at the bottom when the razor is closed. There was always a question if these were made by Tanifuji, and in this case there’s no doubt, it has Tanifuji stamps on the pile side tang. I’ve seen a couple of these around. Cream was T&H UC lathered with a Simpsons 59 (no lather shortage today) and SMN lavande finished up a BBS shave.
