  2. Thank you, Joseph. I own the Guerlain EdT and enjoy wearing it. I haven't been inspired yet to purchase the TF Grey Vetiver, mainly due to its price.
  3. Joe-unrelated to shaving-nice job by the Long Islanders in beating Pitt.
  4. Joseph, I hope your Mother's health improves quickly and you are able to get her situated comfortably. You and your family will be in my prayers.
  5. Thanks Paul! The Penguins gave them a run for their money except for the last game of the 1st round.
  6. Thanks, Joe!

  8. I have worked through a stack of disposal razors over the last couple of months just to get them cleared out of the den. I'm on my last one, which has six blades and a pivoting head. It has been an interesting detour. These razors have all shaved well, but it's easy to overshave with one of these six-bladed thingamabobs. I do better with a single pass (WTG cheeks/ATG neck) followed by a little more work around my mouth and jawline. Beginning in June, the only disposables in my Den will be a couple of Trac II's. I'll keep those on hand for travel or short stays in jail.

I've also been plowing through a container of TOBS Sandalwood cream. I really like this stuff. It's super easy to make a nice lather, has a great scent, and the price is very reasonable. This one has solidly earned a Top 5 spot in my Den.

I've sat out the thread for a bit. I will be around more in June, and I'm considering one of my open comb razors. I'll continue to plow through my Sandalwood cream and will try to incorporate some of the shaving-related lessons I have learned in the past few years in my posts. I hope we see a few more newcomers. It's so much fun to watch how quickly they learn and start to have fun with traditional shaving.

I hope you all are doing great. Things are fine here. We actually took a short road trip yesterday and ate INSIDE a restaurant for the first time since August! We've got a trip planned to Minnesota in the next few weeks, which will hopefully include a little fun.

Have a great day, and a safe/reflective Memorial Day weekend.

  9. Gorgeous photo and shave Jim. You summed up my feelings on the Lupo better than I ever did.

  12. Congrats on going through your disposable razors Charlie! It would be torturous for me to shave with them. Glad you are able to go out in restaurants once again. Have a great holiday weekend.

If it were just about results the Lupo could be the one and only but since this became a hobby there's more to it than that.

The scent isn't for everyone but at least the word fecal doesn't come to mind when describing it.

  18. Ah yes, the vintage old spice burley. First time trying it and it reminds me of an old disco from 70s. Something about this scent seems familiar but I cannot put my finger on it. Either way I love it! this morning’s shave was great. Off to work, have a great day!
