Razor: Gillette Golden Tech- Mfg 1940's, mild razor, nice handling, always liked the Gillette fat handle, like to use a extra wide Kai SS blade to give it a boost with a little extra blade feel.
Blade: Kai SS (5) excellent blade, extra wide compared to a Gillette standard blade by .009" thousands of a inch, or .0045 per side.
Sharp & smooth with great longevity. A bit pricy but having a tuck in the den for those mild razors is nice.
Soap: Razorock Lavender, nice scent + excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi Moka express 26mm 2band badger- excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, nice scrub, great lather painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock King Louis Lavender with witch hazel + a dollop of Nivea balm.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= [IMG] excellent shave with my Gillette golden tech with a wide Kai SS Blade.

This Haverford is a keeper I have to say.
The G4 knot on this Alpha brush loads forever loads. And the old nacet just keeps cutting.

Razor: Penn Adjustable
Blade: Penn
Brush: Jayaruh synthetic
Soap: Arko
Post: Medicated witch hazel
A/S: Snake bite

So let me get the simple stuff out of the way. Brush is great, if you haven’t bought, adopted or commissioned Jayaruh for one of his brushes , you should. The soap is arko, hate the scent, love the scent either way it performs like a champ. Snake bite, is just simply awesome and im glad i finally grabbed me some. Now on to the razor

For @Dave in KY and @jmudrick
The Penn razor is a pretty razor. It may look simple and plain by todays standards, but think about the time period. 1920s, this was slim, sleek and elegant. When I look at it from that stand point it’s a damn nice looking razor. The adjustment works in a simple fashion, slide the nub back and the screw pushes the blade and head up opening the gap and it works. The nos blade was clean and free of rust and is plenty sharp. I cleaned it a little and off i went.

The mild setting is pretty mild, but the blades are slightly tuggy. If you go slow, you will notice it more but if you shave confidently you will notice it less. Pushing up the aggression as i went, i can feel the tugging a little more but its not bad ( i felt more tugging from a modern Treet carbon de blade ) It sort of feels to me like the first time i tried a gem or progress / futur where the gap and blade seems to catch you. The slower I went the more i felt the hair lift right before the cut. With the second and third pass i moved around the face easier and faster with the razor and blade performing well. For me the aggressive setting felt better near the end of the shave. In my mind the reason is because the hair is shorter and stiffer so less tugging. So for the clean up i used the aggressive setting and it was really good. So is it super smooth ? Not by todays blades... BUUUT compared to the old Gillette 3 hole blades? HELL YES. I can and will accept the slight tugging because it is what it is i think. I may try to strop it to see if i can smooth out the edge some, but even if i cant i think its fine. The razor and blade provided me with a BBS smooth shave which is free of blood, irritation and in the end that is what im after. There are modern blades and razors that cant do that for me.
