    Thursday's Shave

    RazoRock Game Changer .68OC
    Gillette Nacet (2)
    Omega 10065 Boar
    Col. Conk Lime Shave Soap
    T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Pinaud Lime Sec Aftershave

Opting for something different today, I chose a lime scented shave. The Col Conk Lime does provide a great lather with good protection and I've always found the slickness to be acceptable. I have mentioned before that my first shaving soap was Col Conk Bay Rum and I used it exclusively for a year and a half (not shaving every day like now though). I had no idea how to make a great lather back then and I am amazed at how much the lather has now improved with more experience under my belt. For 3-4 dollars a puck, it's a great value soap. The lime scent of the soap is almost candy-like, similar to the Pinaud aftershave, so they make a good pairing. Imagine smelling a lime Jolly Rancher.

2 passes with the Game Changer this morning provided a very comfortable and efficient result with no irritation or mishaps.

Beautiful picture Dave, and an excellent shave too. I love the Sorrentino, especially in that setting.

Very nice shave Pierpaolo, and thanks very much for the music link. I hadn't heard that in a long time, and it was a very enjoyable listen!

Great shave and a great workout Joe. I hope your day is going as well as it began - maybe even better!

All things come to those who wait, but they don't all look as cool as your brush! Enjoy it Clint, and the best of the day to you too.

Good luck demolishing the cream Patrick. I'm curious to hear how the brushless quest works for you. BTW, speaking of Nivea (sort of), I don't know if you've tried the NIVEA Deep Comfort Post Shave Lotion. @Dave in KY turned me on to it. It's priced right, and FWIW I love the scent and performance. Very refreshing IMO.

Yikes! Sorry to hear about the smoke detectors Jim. Unfortunately, Mrs. HighSpeed and I have been there and done that. It turns out that neither connected alarms nor AC power are required for us. I'll skip the long story of how we found that out after investing in 10 year batteries at roughly $10 a pop. -- On a happier note, that is a great shave and a great pic!

    Thank you, Jim!

Funny, the description from Clubman's website states the scent to be: "Zesty Fougère with a top note of lime." "Classic cologne with a zesty punch: Like freshly picked lime, Clubman Lime Sec Cologne is your perfect partner to those warm spring and summer days! One splash and you're escorted to a Greek island with the sweeping sea to one side, and a citrus lime grove to the other, while traces of musk and exotic woods drift in the breeze. A true classic fragrance!"

Well, although I do enjoy the scent, I just get a light lime Jolly Rancher scent.

By the way, Banana is my favorite flavor of Laffy Taffy!!

Very nice shave, pic and lineup Andrew! It's rare that anyone on this thread uses Col. Conk's soap. I've never used it, but I have seen how it lathers quite well on youtube. Hey, for 4 dollars a puck, you can't go wrong. My only problem with the soap is that it is not in a container with a lid and thus necessitates putting it in a mug. Razorock has 4 oz pucks for 4 to 5 dollars and the soaps are containers.

    Thank you, Joe.

Since the Col Conk soaps are glycerin based (not triple milled or tallow based), you can just put them in your favorite bowl/mug and microwave it. The soap will melt to form into shape. The Dollar Tree stores have ceramic soup mugs with handles that would work perfect ($1.00). Problem solved!

I neglected to mention they are 2.25 oz pucks so you are paying 1.77/oz or 7.11 for a standard 4 oz.

I know about that fix, but I prefer soaps in containers. It is just me.

Still bargain priced! Amazon Prime has a variety four pack for $12.00 (that's $1.33/oz).

If that's your holdup, just use one of your empty Stirling tubs - there's your container and you're recycling.

Wonderful. I think some of the other straights in your den are starting to feel neglected. They might rebel against Max.

Thanks Joe! I agree that I have neglected my other straights, but it all was for a good cause. I will bring out my Parker SRB shavette for my next shave. Next week, I will alternate with 2 Parker shavette shaves and 1 straight. I think that I will use one of my C-Mons or my Friodur. Of course, the straight razor choices may change according to my mood.
