    I've used a fixed handle shavette before, but not for a while, and the change up to a fixed handle tonight was more challenging than I expected. Even so, I managed to get through a painstaking but bloodless first pass before switching to the Nodachi.

    Thanks gentlemen. I appreciate the concern and kind words.

    God protected me, and I was indeed very fortunate. Now to get those handrails installed and to pay more attention. I've got a dear friend here who has offered to help me build them or stay after me until I have them installed.
