Prep: Warm shower:/Asda Tingly Mint & Tea Tree Shower Gel.

Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face.
Pears Transparent Bar Soap. + Nuage Menthol shaving Oil.
Brush: Semogue 1305.
Face Lather.
Lather : Williams Mug Shaving Soap.
Blade: Chinese Gillette London Bridge. (D2)
Razor: Parker 55SL Semi-Slant.

Post:
Cold water face wash with brush squeezings, Cold Water Face Rinse. /Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils.3 Menthol Crystals, Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./Williams Aqua Velva ASL. (Spanish Version) Aloe Vera Gel.

Sunday summer solstice eve shave.

I haven't added the Williams Mug Soap to my soap rotation for a while, and forgot how much of a slick lather this old school classic creates....I have mentioned before i totally understand why some people have love/hate opinions on Williams it does take a while a little more effort and time to create a good lather but once you get passed the airy/bubbly stage your rewarded with a wonderful slick protective lather...However, like most budget love/hate shaving soaps it doesn't get top marks for it's scent which to my nose is a 'clean scent 'with no 'bells or whistles' but makes up multitude for it's slickness protection and post shave feeling which is the main issue in any soap or shaving cream IMHO.

The scent of a soap isn't a important issue for me slickness protection, and post shave feel is ok. Besides i find once i have had a cold water rinse the scent of a soap or cream is virtually gone as always YMMV.

The Chinese Gillette London Bridge blade continued to give another acceptable performance slicing through my stubble with effortless ease.

An enjoyable 3 pass + pick ups comfortable silky smooth shave with no errors to report...Finishing to the shave off with a small dollop of Aloe Vera Gel.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.

here my Shave of the Day (20.06.2021)


Preshave: Menthol Cube // Razor: Rockwell 6S on plate 3 // Blade: Gillette Bleue Extra // Soap: Soap Commander Confidence // Brush: Zenith Titanio Boar // Aftershave: Floid Vigoroso // Music: Derek Fiechter - Island Lagoon

Once again a great shave. The cube really adds something special to the shave. Especially in the second pass I noticed today the additional gliding effect. Awesome!!!

Zenith...great brush from Italy. The knot is in my opinion the best of my bristles. Not even Semogue can not keep up. After 2-3 shaves the knot is dialed in, super soft in the tips, but at the same time (for me) with the right amount of backbone. Fun to lather with ...

The Rockwell on 3 is very fine. But even on plate 6 I can use it without thoughts or fear.

The soap has a lovely fresh floral scent with a very subtle honey sweetness. The patchouli ca not be detected (from my nose).

Lather typical once again a perfect performance from Soap Commander. Once as always, you might say. I guess the blade has seen it‘s best days, the shave wasn't as close as usual, but that doesn't matter, I'm not running after a BBS shave at any price. Either it will be smooth as glass or just not. I don't stress about it anymore.

Splashed with the pleasantly scented Floid Vigoroso. Great stuff.

A bit of a modern & classic kind of throwback scent. One of their more masculine scents on par with Essenza & Intensa Colonia line versions. Lavender, Woody Green notes with a dash of citruses. Smells like a sweetened freshly manicured golf course at the crack of dawn if one could imagine that. I love the stuff….

The Jeeves of Hudson Street Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #144 Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Ever-Ready Lather Catcher razor with a Personna PTFE SS Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Florida Water. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
