    Thanks so much Gary!

    Thank you Jeff!

    Thank you Joe!

    Aww.....:signs001:

This razor was my second straight razor purchase, although it was the first I received and tried to shave with as my Friodur purchase from the day before took longer from overseas. Always been a Puma blade fan, have two pocket knives from the same era. One was my own purchase back then with grass cutting $ (and it now needs some handle insert restoration love, due to my father 'borrowing' it).....the other Puma was a similar blade NOS purchase last year. I'll get all 3 in some images someday....

This Puma photographs well....I finger polished it with 200k diamond paste last year, it had some slight oxidation on the tang, and close to and into the etching. Small error of oiling after use still having a bit of water on a finger or somehow mixed in I guess. The polishing lightened the etching a bit, but with a careful lighting angle it still shows very well.

i love the prewar techs and found little difference as well.i also pass these ones along a lot (with exception to my 1940 gold u.s one) as i always acquire them quite frequently...in search of the perfect /NOS set..;).the post war ones all seem to shave the same no matter what country they're from, handle weights/material types making a subtle difference.:):eatdrink047:

I think it is a good idea to find out how far you can go on a blade. So if you have to bin a blade during a shave, then it is no a big deal as long as you don't cut yourself. You don't want to push it when it really is spent.

@jluc I decided to follow Jim's lead with the Christmas in July theme so I brought out the Stirling Christmas Eve soap. I just love this scent. It really beacons me to the time when I was a kid at my grandma's living room and smelling her real live tree. Did 2 passes for a BBS minus shave. There was not any stinging from the alum or the aftershave. I smell and look great! Have a great afternoon guys.

There is a guide/chart out there somewhere that shows that there are subtle differences and that the Canadian one is considered a little more aggressive. Personally, I've had pre and post war Canadians and a post war No Date Code US tech and really can't tell a difference between any of them. I only kept the prewar Canadian in the rotation. That's why I've put the '51 Canadian in the drawer for my son if he ever wants it. I do like the thicker prewar tech handle as compared to the post war ball end, fwiw, but like the heavier weight of the solid ball end.
