    Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 973

Eric (Maineyooper) loaned me the Open Comb Vector Plate and Dave likey. Just as smooth as the SB in my book and I may send Eric the funds rather than the plate back if I can wiggle it out from him.(I think he really wants to sell it anyway [IMG]) Love this soap and scent and hoping the great shave will bring a better day than the past couple...................can't hurt. Have a stupid fun day Guys !

I had read many say the OC was just as smooth as the SB and Honestly had my doubts but they were correct the angle is the same and it is just the same. For me as a daily shaver, I really have no need of an OC due to growth. That said, they just look cooler on an already cool razor. I had owned and been thru many MANY modern Single edge razors (Asylum RX All 3 metals of the Original Colonial General, ATT SE1, etc etc etc) and the Vector was the one that just clicked for me as the perfect fit. Hope that helps but better help in the pm I sent ya ;)

    Good morning!

    Christmas in July!

Excellent shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. The alum was warm in the hollows of my neck, probably residual effect from yesterday.

    Have a great day!

Saponificio Varesino SS & AS - Felce Aromatica
    Evan's @MrEE 2021 LE #001 w/TGN 2 band badger
    ABCo 7/8
    Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements Star Jelly

45+ seconds of loading this well hydrated badger in the SV tub, can barely tell this soap has been used many times (triple milled wonder). Evan's cool deep blue 2021 TSD LE brush handle is a solid aluminum piece....almost feels like a weapon, it's mass quite apparent. SV's lather (built in a bowl as usual for me), just absolutely top notch in slick protective goodness, super skin feel. Definitely helped towards a dolphin smooth shave this morning with zero crimson leakage. 3 full passes. Massive size/weight for a Japanese blade, this ABCo 7/8 is mirror polished stainless steel, fun black/red painted tang design, brownish (leans to red) semi transparent scales. A very quiet shaver with a thick near wedge grind. Some follow up skin nourishment with PAA's Star Jelly, then a top favorite, SV's Felce Aromatica after shave balm. It is very similar in appearance to PAA's Star Jelly (but more hydrated). Felce Aromatica is a divine fougère fragrance, only wish it lasted longer, as it fades into the skin within an hour or two.

Today's image....a quick self indulgence with some 'studio time' last night. Captured on my iPhone 12 Pro using the Halide app in manual mode (for macro focusing, DOF play, and lighting controls). A little post processing in Photoshop Express to punch the contrast and remove some pesky dust that wandered on the setup.

Hope everyone has a fantastic Wednesday!

    Diamondine No. 7
    Fine Accoutrements Fresh Vetiver soap
    Yagi Dandelion synthetic brush
Scottish Antique by Andy Hilfiger cologne

The Fine soap on today's menu is new to the den. Nice fresh scent and the wife approved.

I was able to complete two passes. It was a little awkward at times but that comes with the newbie territory. Scott @DaltonGang said this puppy was wickedly sharp and he is right. I was careful with the set downs and stretched the skin.

Overall it was an enjoyable shave.

Very nice Joe! Love that CVH big blade!

Super combination Dave. The Blackland Vector (have the SB setup) is an awesome shaver, very natural blade engagement angle for me as well.

Awesome Christmas in July combination Jim! The H&S polish is very cool.

SOTD WEDNESDAY MORNING, JULY 7, 2021

The mug shave this morning featured my absolutely favorite Vintage Sheffield razor, the Manhattan Cutlery French Point 6/8. I don’t know what it is about this razor, but it just feels great in the hand. It never fails to deliver an excellent three pass shave, and this morning was no exception. I stropped it last night on linen and leather, and it was keen as could be. The whiskers were successfully reduced, leaving your happy narrator with a porcelain smooth face. The dome shave was every bit as good. Colonial Razor builds superb shaving tools. I own both their General V2 AC and this Silversmith DE, and keep both in the regular rotation. I was not a great fan of the original Silversmith handle, and was quick to replace it with the newer design which was rolled out about when the General V2 became available. This razor never fails, and with a Sharp Star loaded swept away my dome stubble in two ATG passes leaving me clean and wonderfully smooth.

RAZOR: Manhattan Cutlery French Point 6/8 (Mug), Colonial Silversmith (Dome)
    BLADE: Sharp Star DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: MrEE Aluminum Handled Monster Tuxedo Synth
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Old Spice Splash (Indian Version)
