Here is one you may not see again anytime soon. It looks like a flat bottom tech but has shoulders like an old type and was most likely made sometime between 1962 and 1968ish based on the handle. Logo is also a 1960s style Gillette logo and cap style is of the 62 and later tech razors. Cap used to have Gillette embossed on it but the original lettering is almost completely faded. I don't think this was ever made for Anglo markets. This one came from India and maybe a unique variation to that market.

very cool score.makes sense as both blade types are probably still in use in some countries, or older tooling.

Very strange to see holes punched in a flat bottom tech baseplate, and even stranger to see blade centering posts on a late model cap. Very neat and unique razor.

Of interest while perusing ebay. This is far as I know the last production year or close to it for a Canadian 3pc Tech razor with a date code of 1953.

I have three travel techs similar to this but none with this style knurling.

This is the most attractive & I imagine grippy variant I have seen.

Beautiful razor. Open comb so not a Tech?

Remember no English razors at this time were called Techs, flat bottom or otherwise, that's collector's trying to force razors into boxes.. I'm calling it an open comb Tech because the plate is a Tech plate as we commonly refer to them. Mr. Razor puts the French Service set razor in the New category but it's not a new plate as you can see. There were later open comb Techs from South America and elsewhere.

French probably. I wouldn't call it a French service set as by definition a set is determined by the case (and Bakelite wouldn't have survived any service). Mr. Razor shows a similar bakelite case but a different razor (handle and cap) configuration.

Why French market only? That handle comes pretty often in UK sets, in Gillette and also third party grooming sets.

That's true. I see the razor in the "New Jewelry Set"...with different case, no other example on Mr. Razor I can find. Hey I"m fine with English. I"ll even call it a New (even if it's not) if y'all want.
