Great piece. Still have the one I bought 20+ years ago. Needs new vent apparatus now though.

May I recommend Low & Slow by Gary Wiviott as an excellent educational read. Following it, I learned what I believe to be the great key to good outdoor cooking…. clean fire.

    Tough to beat a Kettle.

    Hi all!!!
All the fantastic looking beautiful razors pictured here enough to make you want to mortgage your house for one.
My last day off and I decided to go dirt cheap and simple.
    20210711_092044.jpg
My 1907 Dime razor with a Perssona GEM blade, the spine removed to fit.
A Rubberset 103 boar brush with original knot.
A cheap soap, Ivory bar, and some White Rum for after shave.
A 2 pass shave, head n face, that is actually very good.
I can see how you could get a really good shave around the beginning of the last century using what ever you had on hand.
No, I didn't have any Moonshine, drank the rest of that years ago.

I'm am quite pleased with the results and ready for the day.

Guess I won't go to get my dime back...

    Enjoy

Glad to hear that Kathy is doing better Charlie. Perhaps you can get the oncologist and nice DE set plus a Mayhem set as well.

It is too bad....as for Andrew, he may be at the point where 3 kids and work keep him too busy. I'm going to try that with Norseman who I haven't seen in years.

Fine shave this morning..much better than that of yesterday. I could tell before the shave that the jawline needed the most work. Having success with that area was great. I also had success going easier over the cut area from yesterday. Slow and steady(wins the race)again up the NW "coast" of Porcupine Alley. Cheeks&sideburn areas clear and ready for the day. One pass. No cuts/Knicks. Outta This World Excellent (a rarity for a goo shave, but I've had a few).

No doubt. I had to figure out the right angle for my Schick Injector. However, my safety razors were easy to get the right angle from the get go. I am not consciously thinking of riding or not riding the cap. I just shave.
