Your idea is not that bad, but I received it from my father as a 20 years gift. So it will stay in this condition, too much emotions involved.

    In that case, I agree.

Rainy day playing with a razor...
This was definitely one of those mid way through where I am wondering why I am doing this. :)
Here it was, pretty messed up, but Scott showed the way forward.

I am not a huge fan of that angular heel look while maintaining the stabilzer(s), so spent quite a bit of time with a 60 grit Dremel wheel to make this shape:
    3AB6CDED-8842-4587-A9A0-C5F08E4E04B4.jpeg
I feathered out the stabilizers with 240 and 400 grit drums, and then turned to Emory.

    Backside... more of the same.

Now to figure out what to do with the scales. :)
    Enjoy your projects.

This is a fellow members blade.
This had patina and rust on several parts of the blade, and the entire tang and tail. A lot of sanding and polishing required. I left some patina, because with an oldie like this, highly polished just wouldn't look right. The blade was also very very wobbly, and off center. That was corrected.
The horn scales were also polished, but are very dry. They will be soaked in some Neatsfoot oil before honing.

This had a very slight nick in the edge, that was taken out. It also was tarnished all over with light rust in very few places. I did a light sanding with 800 grit wet/dry, and did some heavy polishing. In the end, the blade looks almost brand new, though the photos do not show it well. The scales were also poished out, and transformed nicely.

Finally finished the Geo. Rodgers from above.

Before: cracked and removed from its scales on the left (which were donated to a W&B)

This is more of a "before" picture. The Kropp and the Freddie Reynolds are a work in progress. Both are in very good condition...just need a good clean-up and some new scales.

    Extra Hollow Ground

This looked a little corroded, and iffy, on the Bay. I took a risk, and found it had tarnish, all over, and some heavy rust, on the tail. The box was worn too, at the very end. But, it cleaned up well, and shiny all over. Almost NOS looking. The bluing is intact on the spine, tang, and tail. It has one of the thinnest grinds possible.

    Before:

    s-l1600.jpg

After: A lot of polishing needed, as well as Stainless Steel brush, on the tail, to remove the rust, and not the bluing. Some Gaffers Tape fixed the worn, hole in the case.
