Here's a special little 'pick-me-up' from one lowly NBer to another.

I'd provide the song lyrics, but I bet @Paul Turner will recite them for us when he gets home from The Pig. :)

Is @jtspartan the guy on the left?

If I had the extra funds to spare. I would get one, for collector and shave quality. Or any other reason I could think of.

Another good shave earlier today. My initial thought on the Open Comb are unchanged- a very similar shave to the 'D' SB, but not quite as smooth. Still a very nice shave and very good results.
The soap now has a small donut hole at the bottom of the tub...still a ways away from being done.
I'll switch up the baseplates tomorrow and have a run with the F plate.
    Have a great night all!

My dear friends at TSD. Recently, many of you were incredibly kind enough to keep my mother and me in your thoughts. Sadly, my mother left this world yesterday afternoon. It's with a heavy heart I share this news with you all. Thank you again for your kindness. I will never forget it.

Yeah, that's it for the Christmas themed soaps until December. Not sure what I'll use tomorrow.
    Nice shave, Jason.
I have the SB C plate. Super smooth and with the slight positive exposure easy to use. My new plates should arrive tomorrow.

The MacDuffs aftershave did eventually soak in and left my face feeling really nice.

Given the quality of shave with both the 'C' OC and 'D' SB, I'm sure the SB C is more of the same. I'm a fan- smoothness, efficiency, build quality. The Karve checks all the boxes for me. I'm looking forward to giving the more aggressive 'F' a run for the next few days.
    Thanks again.
So many Canadian soap companies (Tallow&Steel, Highland Springs, First Canadian, the aforementioned Macduff, Soapy Bathman when they were around) have chosen to make their splashes without alcohol. Much easier to ship abroad to much larger markets, I suppose. Henri et Victoria, Maol and Booster are the only small companies I can think of making alcohol-based splashes up here these days. Oh well.

Great news for y'all Charlie, such awesome results for the trip to MN! Absolutely a blessing.

Me....behind again on posting my daily setups....working too much, then something hit me with a stomach bug or IDK yesterday evening/this morning. Finally feeling better this evening. Been reading along, hitting the 'like' button as I keep up.

A DFS head and face shave.
Just where I like to be.

You know this is the razor I use almost exclusively.
You know I use a new blade every time.
Even if I use a different DE razor I use a Feather blade and change blades every time.
I'm spoiled by using a sharp blade to shave with Every time.

Well after going through box after box of bladest in the last year.

I was worried I would run out of blades In no time, a n d that would be terrible.

At last, after searching for deals on the internet, saving my pennies, slowly buying a box here and a box there.

    20210713_194908.jpg
I think I'm finely stocked up on my favorite DE blade.

    Enjoy

    Tuesday Enablement Shave

Having received a really cool package of Razors out summer vacationing at the gracious hands that master enabler @Dave in KY , the Blackland Vector had my attention yesterday.

Today a unique piece came out to play. The Clauss Automatic Safety Razor complete with case in wonderful condition. Having never used a Gem type razor before so I had to acquire some blades at a local drug store and de-spline one. I had been cautioned this shaving piece can be vicious. And Shark week too.

The Clauss appears to have been made for dedicated blades. Initially, I thought the Gem blade might slip around in there but the cap has these little springy tabs that push the blade to the stops. I thought the blade corners hung out to the side more than I liked, so I muted them on an Arkansas Stone.

The shave was uneventful. I liked how low of an angle it gets to and got bolder as I went along. Yesterday’s outing with the Vector was delightful, but I’m not sure this old jalopy didn’t out shave it. And I though I was going to allow Dave to enable me to buy the Vector. I might have to get more of these old razors. Maybe even start my own shave forum. I’ll call it TOWST, that would be The Original Window Scraper Thingydingers
    :scared003:

It did really shave well! And I liked it.
    Thank you Dave.
