Thanks Joe. My "third" pass was a half pass that cleaned the jawline and neck. However, in recent months, I have been satisfied with 2 passes and getting BBS- to near BBS shaves. I used to do 3 full pass shaves. Since my technique improved, I found that a third pass was not necessary for me. Sure, I could do a third pass for the fun of it. However, I sometimes do a third lather just to infuse more scent on my face and then wash it off before I go on to my postshave routine.

 

I'm lookin' at this Saturday for a scheduled delivery of the "PS-Paul Sebastian" A.S. from The Perfume Spot.

The A plate reminded me a lot of the AS-D2. I'll spend a few days with it then go to the other plate I picked up. I went to the other extreme and got the G.

Happy Thursday Everyone. What a morning. I needed a drama free automatic shave and this lineup delivered. The Supply Co razor works great for me without any thought. Three passes and touch ups caught the baby with ease. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

 

Thanks Jim. I love the AS-D2 and was curious how the A plate compared.

The lather was spot on this morning. There is a lot if back and forth on Tabac but one cannot deny the lather is top notch.

Awesome two pass shave with three passes on the neck. No blood loss and the alum was barely noticeable.

A little witch hazel followed by the Royal Copenhagen and this one cruised across the finish line.

July Focus

The transition to the oldest generation has begun. Spent about 4 hours this morning
closing accounts; submitting obits; and getting my mother's affairs in order.
Everyone I spoke with on the phone, without exception, was very kind and sympathetic.
Rode my Assault Exercise Bike to burn off some calories and clear my mind.
Then to a very good shave.
The dubl duck has the nicest scales in my straight arsenal, but scales don't shave you, the edge does.
40 laps on the strop and then I started creating my lather.
Chose to spritz my KK with a straight Oud juice, Dehn El Oudh Malaki.
Now THIS would be a terrific soap scent!!!
The Klar was slick and protective.
3 passes, including a pretty good ATG on the lower neck.
On a whim, I leaned down towards the sink and the angle enabled a much better attack on the stubble.
While I still wouldn't pass the cotton ball test, I am much pleased at the results.

This scent is not for everyone, but it is mos def© for me.

Ran with the 'F' plate again earlier this morning. The Omega Pro did its usual admirable job of whipping up the fave scent (with a 1 inch wide donut hole in the soap bottom now, fwiw) and I had 3 incident-free passes. The F plate definitely feels more aggressive than the C or D, but doesn't sacrifice all of the smoothness to get there. I felt a little raw on my neck afterwards, but I was quite smooth. I don't think that the F plate is the easy daily driver that the less aggressive plates are, but with a little concentration, it delivers easy, drama free passes still. To be honest, I get darn near perfect results with the D plate, so I wouldn't say the F can significantly improve on that. I think I will definitely enjoy this plate as a change of pace moving forward. Karve continues to knock it out of the park for me. Finishing with the awesome CL product was a great end to the shave as well.
