Good morning!

The Karve Aluminum A plate arrived yesterday afternoon so of course I had to have a go with it today. Exhaust fan off and no music playing. I figured I would need the audible feedback. Not so much really. I could feel when it was and wasn't cutting. Not a big sweetspot but not crazy small either. Small enough though that I feel a bit of sandpaper on my right jaw where I lost the angle. My usual three passes with very little feedback from the alum. I'm a fan of uber smooth razors so I'm a fan of this combination.

The lather was spot on this morning. There is a lot if back and forth on Tabac but one cannot deny the lather is top notch.

Awesome two pass shave with three passes on the neck. No blood loss and the alum was barely noticeable.

A little witch hazel followed by the Royal Copenhagen and this one cruised across the finish line.

The transition to the oldest generation has begun. Spent about 4 hours this morning
closing accounts; submitting obits; and getting my mother's affairs in order.
Everyone I spoke with on the phone, without exception, was very kind and sympathetic.
Rode my Assault Exercise Bike to burn off some calories and clear my mind.
Then to a very good shave.
The dubl duck has the nicest scales in my straight arsenal, but scales don't shave you, the edge does.
40 laps on the strop and then I started creating my lather.
Chose to spritz my KK with a straight Oud juice, Dehn El Oudh Malaki.
Now THIS would be a terrific soap scent!!!
The Klar was slick and protective.
3 passes, including a pretty good ATG on the lower neck.
On a whim, I leaned down towards the sink and the angle enabled a much better attack on the stubble.
While I still wouldn't pass the cotton ball test, I am much pleased at the results.
For @Keithmax is this challenging fragrance from Pierre Montale:

Ran with the 'F' plate again earlier this morning. The Omega Pro did its usual admirable job of whipping up the fave scent (with a 1 inch wide donut hole in the soap bottom now, fwiw) and I had 3 incident-free passes. The F plate definitely feels more aggressive than the C or D, but doesn't sacrifice all of the smoothness to get there. I felt a little raw on my neck afterwards, but I was quite smooth. I don't think that the F plate is the easy daily driver that the less aggressive plates are, but with a little concentration, it delivers easy, drama free passes still. To be honest, I get darn near perfect results with the D plate, so I wouldn't say the F can significantly improve on that. I think I will definitely enjoy this plate as a change of pace moving forward. Karve continues to knock it out of the park for me. Finishing with the awesome CL product was a great end to the shave as well.
Back to the Spoiler focus tomorrow, methinks.

Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face.
Pears Transparent Bar Soap. + Nuage Menthol shaving Oil.
Brush: Anbbas Boar.
Face Lather.
Lather : Proraso Red Shaving Soap.
Blade: Dorco ST300. (D2)
Razor: Parker 87r.

Post:
Cold water face wash with brush squeezings, Cold Water Face Rinse. /Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils. + 3 Menthol Crystals Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./ Proraso Red ASL./Nivea Men Fresh Kick ASB.

Early morning shave,

I can't remember when i last used the Proraso Red Soap & ASL duo. It reminded myself how much i like them.

Last outing of the non aggressive yet efficient Dorco ST300. These Korean made blades pair together wonderfully with my Parker razors.

A Enjoyable 3 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report...Finishing to the shave off with a small dollop of Nivea Men Fresh Kick ASB.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.

I'm now on holiday for 11 days due to the mill shut down for maintenance jobs to be done.

SOTD THURSDAY MORNING, JULY 15, 2021

We all joke about the word “need” in our shaving collectibles community. Recently, a new replaceable blade straight razor billed as the “ultimate” luxury shavette, the ‘Tedalus’ was released following an excellent marketing campaign. Well, yours truly, who ‘needs’ another shaving tool like a whale needs wings purchased one. I’m looking forward to receipt and shaving with it. I had signed up for a passaround at TSD, but have withdrawn from it. The Tedalus is billed as shaving exactly like the best straights and is purportedly crafted to match them in quality. I’ll report back after my first shave with it.

This morning’s mug shave featured my vintage Witte Copperhead 6/8 crafted in Solingen, Germany in the thirties. When I first received it as NOS, there was note in the accompanying coffin case, “Honed by Henerey 1939”. That old edge was actually shaveable, although I did eventually touch it up on my Jasper stone using successively diluted slurries. The three pass shave went well. I finished the morning ablutions with a delightful Rex Ambassador two pass dome shave. I feel clean, cool and porcelain smooth.

RAZOR: A.Witte Copperhead 6/8 (Mug), Rex Ambassador (Dome)
BLADE: Feather DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: JT Sapele/Resin Handled Omega Pro48 Boar Knot
SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Chiseled Face Natural AS Splash.

Thanks Joe! Something like that....rewarding myself instead of paying the plumber's house call fee (which is slightly ludicrous here in the DFW area), plus a new disposal unit.

TLDR: A plumber would probably have said, 'new disposal', instead of just removing/cleaning assembly/replacing the flange. Most of my time was separating the old flange off the top mounting tab of the disposal unit itself (judicious use of hammer, pliers, penetrating oil) without damaging the garbage disposal assembly. Once that was accomplished, the new flange kit and disposal was installed/tested/running in <15 minutes. Basically the gasket on the top side of the sink failed slowly, allowing water to seep down the sides of the original flange kit, welded it all together with oxidation, eventually showing as a leak at the top of the unit itself.

All right, we're back. 0:65 to load the Jayaruh#59. Went on in nice fashion. Cheeks and sideburn areas, no problem. Ditto Porcupine. At Cactus, I suddenly realized I missed the area just next to the ingrown hairs. Almost like I skipped over the area. Well, that's bad, but I'll get it in the 2nd pass. I got most of it. The rest of Cactus was fine. A little added attention at NW Porcupine, but I think that's always going to be the case. No cuts/Knicks. The aforementioned Mennen Skin Bracer, then Pierre Cardin Fragrance to close.. Very Excellent, as you can't ignore that miss. .
