Never used one of these, and not even tempted by one. You see them on the bay all the time, as well as Etsy. Anyone ever try one of these, and if so, how was the shave? Just seems that the inability to get new cartridges for replacement, they just never caught on with the wet shaving renaissance crowd.
I haven't tried one but plenty of N.O.S. cartridge bands show up for sale on ebay. Whether one thinks they are worth buying or not is another issue.
Funny! I saw the "Band Razors" subject line and figured Gillette made some razors for Major Glenn Miller's Army Band as a promotional thing during WWII. HA! Silly me. I'm a newbie. - Bax
Oh i have one which my son is currently using. We both like the shave and i was able to find a seller on ebay who had a box of refills for super cheap. The shave is just like am injector. Its mid-aggressive Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I tried one, a Gillette Techmatic. I didn't care for it. The blades have been coiled for so long, that they all pretty much have a slight curve/bend in the blade. It can make shaving with them an interesting experience. As @Jorvaljr said, they shave very much like an injector.
That bend may not be just because it's been coiled for a long time. This is an article I found about it: https://globalshave.club/blog/f/is-there-really-a-worst-razor-of-all-time
I have one and have used it 2 or 3 times. Drag it out once in a blue moon to remind me it shaves just adequately and feels cheap. Just st use occasionally because it was good enough for the astronauts
Alot of people give it flak but i think it shaves really good. My gave my son a slim, a techmatic and schick adjustable injector and he likes the techmatic the best. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
just a new way to reinvent the wheel...haven't tried one .carts just broke the blade into 1,2,3-9 sections..
Reinventing the wheel is what it is all about and what it has been from day one or you'd still be scraping your face with a stone
