Thank you Danny. I have never tried bowl lathering the Fat. I just know in the beginning all you get is suds when loading. I rub those onto my face and then keep loading.

Happy Saturday Everyone. I am moving way too early on a Saturday morning. Unfortunately, I have to go into a client office today. At last I was able to get a relaxing shave before work. The Omega Evo and Arran shave soap just seem to be made for each other. The soap was very easy to load and lather. The lather was very slick. The English Cologne type scent added to the shave without being overpowering. Three passes and touch ups caught the baby. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.

    Razor: Karve Aluminum G
    Blade: Gillette Platinum (1)
    Brush: Heritage Collection Klenzo
    Pre-shave: PAA Cube
    Soap: B&M Reserve Spice
    PAA Galactic Witch Hazel
    B&M Unscented Balm
    AS: B&M Reserve Spice

    Good morning!

It was time for a new blade so I figured I'd swap the baseplate as well. SB G up for its first use. 1.36 gap and .25 positive exposure. Purely a curiosity purchase. I'm a shallow angle shaver so blade gap means next to nothing for me, it's the exposure that piqued my interest. The shave I got was completely unexpected. I did not expect such a smooth easy shave. Fair amount of blade feel but in no way harsh. Never felt as if it wanted to bite.. Just ride the cap and cruise. Three passes and next to nothing from the alum. Fantastic!

    Have a great day!

    DE Shave # 353

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: PAA Prismatic
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
    Brush: Ever Ready 200T
Lather: Proraso Aloe and Vitamin E
    Aftershave: Stirling Sandalwood
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block
Thayer's Witch Hazel - Aloe Vera

Beautiful morning in downtown Sarasota. Today is the last day of the travel shaves. Proraso is a fine cream that just works. The den reduction continues of the samples as the Stirling Sandalwood has bit the dust. Another fine three pass shave to leave my face just divine.
Hope you all have a great day gentlemen.

Wonderful shave, setup and pic Barry. Williams does provide slickness to get a fine shave. However, it does not provide a good lather with my NY water. Have a good afternoon.

    SOTD SATURDAY JULY 17, 2021

Good morning, my stubbly friends! I’m currently awaiting the arrival of one of the original 333 Tedalus luxury shavettes. I did not qualify for the initial discount, and ended up paying the full freight. While the thrifty internal me is sorry he didn’t stay up until midnight when they were finally released to obtain it, there’s no regrets on my part.

Several friends at TSD whom I respect have been raving about it! It’s certainly got some fancy packaging. As an admitted superfan of my wood handled Feather DX which delivers the closest shave of all my straight razors, it’s got an uphill battle. A lot of my final decision will relate to how it feels in hand.

So naturally I selected it for this morning’s shave. Loaded with a Feather Super none of my straights shave closer, although many of them shave as close. Three slow luxurious mug passes put the baby to bed. This razor is just so well balanced and is the perfect size for that final toe down pass that sweeps away the neck stubble that challenges my larger straights.

After reading the shave reports of several of my TSD friends waxing poetic about their Karve Shaving’s “Christopher Bradley” safety razors, I pulled mine out for this morning’s noggin shave. I used to own two - it’s a fabulous safety razor! Two ATG passes with the F_OC plate and your very pleased narrator achieved the velveteen bliss he always seeks. Your truly is cool, clean and oh-so-velveteen!

RAZOR: Feather DX (Mug), Karve F_OC (Dome)
BLADE: Feather Super (Mug), Feather DE (Dome)
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
    BRUSH: Jayaruh Rosewood Silvertip Badger
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Krampert’s Frostbite and Pre de Provence Bergamot & Thyme AS Balm.
