Funny thing the 63 vette is so coveted and expensive due to the split window coupe. It was one year because it was a poor seller... people didn't like the bar down the back window due to it having such poor visibility. What Gillette would that equate to I wonder...
it was more the body style i like,67 is my favorite..not a split window fan so much..same as 57,cleanest lines from the c-1 era..
D1 and F4 Toggle. I don't if this holds true for all the Toggles but on these 2 the orientation of how they stamped the base plate is reversed in relation to the adjustment dot.
Every flat bottomed Tech I’ve owned has always had an un-etched top cap and I wonder if there may be a mismatch there, Gary. I have owned aluminium Tech’s with the same pattern of slotted bars (i.e. not continuous as per ball-end Tech’s) and I would consider weighing the two top caps to see whether there are any major differences between them? the canadian cap has a double crease from end to end along side the pins.similar in weight to the brit cap.never seen this double creased cap on any other tech from any country .the brit cap is very tight when fitted to the canadian base plate also,has to be forced apart..
I see what you mean now Gary. The handle is relatively easy to find compared to the Canadian 4-piece listed on Achim’s site. I’ve had a couple of them (they came without the head, though) and have seen a few others, whilst I only ever saw one of the other type and stupidly sold it very cheaply without realising how rare it is. i understand about the handle,both of these are pre war triangular slot types.have you ever seen a canadian flat bottom tech cap and baseplate before?
I honestly can’t say that I have Gary. They’ve all had a triangular slotted baseplate and it’s only the later Fat Handled versions that have had an etched top cap. It certainly makes the one you have both relatively unique and somewhat curious. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
