  2. Where's the choice for "How is this even a question"? ;)

    Arko, of course.
  3. 16 for ARKO
    9 for Williams.

Not looking good for Williams. I need to find a vintage puck of Williams, to see what all the fuss is about.

  4. Bought a puck of pre-1970's Williams last year on line that was dry and brittle. But I put it in my Old Spice mug. put the mug in small covered pot with about an inch of water and let the steam re-hydrate it, had to continue to add water and reboil until it started to melt. Put it on the shelf for a day, the scent was gone but it worked almost like I remembered, Got a great slick lather .
Tallow was the first ingredient when I started shaving with Williams '61. In the late 70's Tallow was changed to Tallowate as first ingredient, I think it was around that time that I started using Old Spice soap , probably due to the nicer scent.
I think the slow decline of the quality of Williams is, in order to keep sale price low as it always was is to change to lower cost of ingredients.Makes me wonder if Combe keeps Williams Mug soap as a tax write off.
Sorry if I upset anyone with my rantings of an old man, I just miss the old day when things were so much different
  5. @Tallships , if you think that was a rant, you need practice. A lot of things declined, in the shaving world, due to money. First, and greatest was Cartridge Razors. They make the manufacturer more money, make the user dependent on them, due to losing skills, and convenience. Also, they are horrible for the skin, for most people.
Vintage aftershaves changed to cheaper ingredients, and the scent suffered.
Oh, did I mention that Cartridge Razors are the Devils Spawn?? Now, thats a rant. :D

  6. I don't mean to get technical here, but I'm going to do just that anyway. When you see a thought with a question-mark at the end......it's a question.
  7. Ohhh I agree on the Devils Spawn Cartridges, I get a hateful cringe when I pass the the shaving area in stores. I can really go on a rant and rave with them things.:angry019:

  8. I think you mean "Pedantic". The use of the words "Where" and "How" make it a question, even if it is a "Rhetorical Question". Even thoughts, in text form, and in the form of a question, can use question marks.

  9. OK, well, I didn't have a backup word, but even as I wrote my post, I figured there'd be disagreements.

  10. Disagreements make conversations lively. Me being "Pedantic" is just annoying . So my wife says. :eatdrink047:
  11. I use both with equal enthusiasm.
    Here.... it's a tie.
    Sorry.

  18. Only after the first 2000 flushes.
But by then one can only hope it's been completely disolved.

  20. Oh, most definitely! It doesn't get used if there are less than 2000 flushes. After 2000 flushes there's nothing left of the stick so I'm forced to use something other than Arko! :happy102::happy097:
