    Greetings,

A new eclectic shave set up to start the weekend...Yesterday i had a good sort out in my humble shaving den and realised i have quite few Birthday & Christmas presents ASL's & EdT's that i have infrequently used since receiving them from family & friends so i intend to start adding them to my shave set ups more often to get use from them.

Carrying on with the Chinese made DE blade run.. It's been a while since i last used my the Baili BD191. The long hefty teardrop handle makes the razor 'Bottom heavy' which for personal preferences is a bonus as the weight of the razor handle does all the work with no for added pressure needed when shaving, especially for head shaving I also like the "closed head design" which reduces the risk of catching my ear lobes or under my nose from the blade ends when shaving... All in all a good razor, apart from the slippery teardrop handle which i rub with my alum block to give it extra adhesion.

Maiden shave with the Baili Platinum plus blade first of the five that came free with the BD191 razor i have had the blades for a considerable amount of time so i thought it was time to put the blades to the test..The verdict? ..An acceptable comfortable non-aggressive yet efficient blade which paired together with the BD191 wonderfully....The shaving performance reminds me of the Voskhod. I'm not sure of it's longevity as Voskhod come to life after the first outing, but if i can get another comfortable shave from the Baili Platinum + tomorrow, then i'll be content.

A enjoyable close comfortable 2 pass + pick ups comfortable shave with no errors to report...My new 2 pass +pick ups shaving method is giving me good shaving results, not quite as close as it was with the Parker variant in my previous weeks shaves but still smooth & acceptable, nevertheless....Finishing the shave off with a few small squirts of Milton Lloyd The Man Silver EdT to the pulse points.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, stay cool and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

    Razor: Gibbs Adjustable Setting 6
    Blade: Wizamet (1)
    Brush: The Hive
    Soap: Haslinger Schafmilch Tallow
    AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
AS 2: CFG Ghost Town Barber
    Fragrance:
    Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 990

Nice to have a Gibbs back in the stable. Setting 6 is full throttle with decent blade feel and yet as smooth a shave as they come. Really enjoyed the shave and would stay with it awhile but too many razors have been added that I want to get to try. Nice problem to have. Have a Brass handle for the Gibbs from @Clouds that is now in the states and should be here Monday, a Pearl Flexi here as well as the Auto Strop A2 and a Raised Flat Bottom inbound still. Have a stellar day everyone !!

    Thanks, Blair.
I recently watched a video about Kouros. I wasn't aware of the many reformulations over the years. This seems like a reasonable price to try the original.

SOTD SATURDAY MORNING, JULY 24, 2021

Well, after my second shave with the Tedalus Essence, I've made up my mind. I really like this razor/shavette. I’ve never much cared for any shavette that used DE blades. I just didn’t enjoy using them. My son has them all. I’ve used the Dovo Shavette, the Parker SRX, and a few cheap Chines knockoffs, but DE shavettes just don’t feel right to me. YMMV! The Weck Sextoblade blade is ok, but the two preferred shavettes are my Feather DX and now this wonderful new design. I’ve never used the IBC. The Essence feels just like a regular straight in hand and shaves that way as well.

My shave this morning was just superb. Ben, my son, and a straight shaver for more than two decades just received his Tedalus yesterday. He’s shaving with it this morning. I’ll be interested in his thoughts, and will be sharing them in my next post. The mug shave featured my regular three passer. The nice thing about this new razor is that it always shaves like it’s fresh off the stones. I removed the AC blade as I do with my Feather DX after using it and palmstropped it.

My dome shave featured the long-neglected Marvel safety razor head from Fine Shaving. I chucked the awful handle it came on and have it mounted on an Occam’s SS handle from Classic Shaving. The original Marvel handle was just too slippery for shaky old me. Two ATG passes put the baby to bed. I feel cool, clean and nicely velveteen. Now I’m off on my first bike ride since rehab.

RAZOR: Tedalus Essence (Mug), Fine Marvel Safety Razor Head on Occam’s Handle (Dome)
    BLADE: Feather DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: JR #343 w/ Cashmere Synthetic Knot
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Royall Lyme AS/Cologne.

Thanks guys. Unfortunately, that Snoopy Speedmaster isn't mine although it would be super cool to have. I was just pulling Blair's chain. I have this one, and I'm waiting for the call from NASA. I hope to complete the first shave in outer space using Tabac. To conserve weight in my pack, I plan to bum a Voskhod off one of the cosmonauts.

    davidoff adventure
This fragrance for men by the house of Davidoff that brings the challenge of adventure was released in February of 2008, except for the USA market, where it is planned to launched in the fall the same year.

It is promoted by the actor and the real adventurer Ewan McGregor, famous for his roles in Trainspotting, Star Wars, Moulin Rouge, Down with Love. He says that this fragrance and its advertising campaign are deeply connected with him, not only personally, but also with his great passion - motorcycling.

The perfume is created to be woody and spicy and it was designed by perfumer Antoine Lie, Givaudan. He was inspired by untamed nature, its freshness and rich woody notes.

This fragrance starts with sweet and fresh notes of mandarin orange, bergamot, and sparkling lemon, followed by green tea and black pepper. Seeds of black sesame and berries of South American pimento dominate the heart of the fragrance, and the base is made of Peruvian cedar, vetiver and light musk. The fragrance comes in 50 ml and 100 ml bottles, as eau de toilette and 100 ml bottle after shave, with the whole cosmetic line (deodorants, shampoo...).

Stephen Klein was the photographer of the advertising campaign, and the famous actor was photographed in dense Brazilian jungle.

    Brush: PAA Solar Flare
    Pre-shave: PAA Cube
    Soap: PAA Doppelganger Gold

    Good morning!

Wonderful shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. One hot spot from the alum just to the left of my adams apple.

Doppelganger Gold is an homage to Creed's Royal Mayfair. A lovely scent in the CK6 formula which I find to be one of the best.

    Have a great day!
